Joe’s Place has confirmed 18 of the Top 24. She’s releasing a few at a time. So far she’s posted 3 of the semi-finalists and reports a SHOCKING boot.
The Green Mile episode was filmed Thursday night. The Top 40 were gathered, each told whether they would advance on to the live show.
The Top 24 will be ONE week this year, with the group split between boys and girls, performing live to tape and set to air on March 1 and 2. 10 contestants will be voted in by the public. On Tuesday the judges will pick wildcards to round out the finalists. Rumor has it each judge will pick a contestant to make a Top 13.
Since it looks like these are going to dribble out over the next couple of days, I’m going to keep updating this post, so keep your eyes peeled.

The shocking boot?
Chris Medina did NOT make the top 24. Everyone was crying. It was a huge emotional scene.
Oh boy. Well. It became clear that Chris’s talent was just average. It’s a good thing they stopped advancing him on the basis of his backstory. Now he can go back to California and continue taking care of his brain-damaged girlfriend.

Sources on the set tell TMZ … Jennifer Lopez began crying when it came time to send Chris Medina packing on an episode of “American Idol” that airs on Thursday.
We’re told J.Lo became so overwhelmed with emotion, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler had to talk her through it. According to our sources, once J.Lo composed herself, hair and makeup had to swoop in to give her a little touch-up.
