UK Reality Show ‘Starstruck’ featuring Adam Lambert, Olly Murs, reportedly canceled by ITV

UK network ITV has reportedly canceled the reality show Starstruck after two seasons as part of a major “shake-up.”

A sourced told Express, “There were plans to film a new series this autumn and air it in 2024, but they have now been scrapped.”

“Starstruck was popular, but it wasn’t as big as shows like Britain’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer,” said the Express source, “So it was always at risk of being sidelined for something else.”

Express reached out to ITV who said the network has not yet confirmed a 3rd season.

“Starstruck has been a successful new entertainment format for ITV1 and ITVX, consistently holding its slot in our schedules,” said ITV. “We haven’t yet confirmed a third series but are in regular conversations with the show’s producers Remarkable.”

Although ‘Starstruck’ is not returning in 2024, it could come back in 2025

However, according to the Express source, Starstruck could continue in 2025, but it will reportedly not air next year.

The show features panelists American Idol alum and Queen front man Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Shania Twain and Jason Manford. X Factor UK alum Olly Murs hosts. Reportedly, the cast knows the show is not returning.

In Starstruck, a panel of judges whittled down a field of contestants who impersonated famous singers. The finalists would then battle it out to win the £50,000 cash prize.

Rachael Hawnt who performed as Cher won the first season. Shania Twain replaced Sheridan Smith on the judges paned for season 2. Abbie Edwards who impersonated Adele won Season 2, which kicked off in February 2023.

The cast hasn’t spoken publicly about the fate of Starstruck, But earlier this year Olly wrote a message on social media that read like a goodbye.

He wrote on Twitter: “WELL DONE TO OUR STARSTRUCK CHAMP ABBIE. Incredible final last night well done! Thanks to you all for watching, I’ve had the best time working on this show again, the judges were awesome as ever plus the amazing team behind it all putting it together!”
