Survivor Season 46 Week 4 Recap and Live Blog
A new episode of Survivor 46 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.
The episode picks up after Yanu found out they didn’t have to go to tribal council. After Jeff leaves, Bhanu admits to Tiffany and Q that he told Ben and Liz that Kenzie is the mastermind. He also shared that Q and Tiffany are close. Q and Tiffany are unhappy to learn this. Tiffany says Bhanu is a liability. She tells Q that Bhanu has to go. Kenzie was going to be voted out, but Q tells Tiffany it’s back to Plan A. Tiffany tells Kenzie what Bhanu said. Kenzie says Bhanu is like a toddler.
The next morning, Bhanu prays alone by the beach. Q says Bhanu can pray all he wants, but he already made his bed. Bhanu is hoping for a miracle since he knows he’s on the chopping block. Later, the tribes get tree mail hinting that the next challenge will be for a reward.
Meanwhile on the Siga tribe, Maria stumbles upon the Beware Advantage previously found by Jem. The entire tribe is together, and Maria opens it with everyone present. The note says to dig under the spot where the note was found. Maria starts digging with help from her tribe members, but they won’t find anything. Jem placed the note under a different tree than where she found it. The others eventually realize that the Beware Advantage was already found, but they don’t know Jem found the advantage already. In her confessional, Jem says she’s amused and having fun playing Survivor.
Reward challenge
It’s time for the reward challenge. They will paddle boats to collect keys. They will unlock rings and then each tribe member must individually toss them over a pole. Afterwards, they will go under a log obstacle and then toss the rings onto a different pole (which can be done by one person). The winning tribe will win ten fresh fish. The second place tribe will win five fresh fish. The challenge begins. Siga falls behind due to Tim’s struggle with retrieving the key. Siga’s struggles continue with Maria being unable to toss her ring over the pole. Eventually, Q lands all of Yanu’s rings onto a different pole. Yanu wins reward! Maria finally gets her ring over the first pole, but Hunter has already landed the four rings for Nami. Nami wins reward! Since Yanu doesn’t have a flint, they trade the fish reward for a toolkit reward instead.
Nami enjoy the fish reward. Tevin’s late father taught him how to prepare fish, and he’s glad he can use that skill to prepare the fish for his tribe. After Yanu rebuild their shelter with the new supplies, Q coaches Bhanu to be a better player. He tells Bhanu to focus on building bonds instead of talking strategy. Bhanu asks for guidance from Kenzie too, but she isn’t interested. Kenzie loses her patience with Bhanu, and he walks away. Kenzie says Bhanu is fifteen years older than her, and she doesn’t think she should have to baby him throughout the game.
Beware advantage search
Back on the Siga tribe, Ben says he’s proud of everyone. Maria feels like she let the tribe down; she’s crying. The tribe gives Maria a pep talk and tells her to not be hard on herself. Later, the tribe goes searching for the Beware Advantage together. They dig under the tree more, but they finally realize the advantage has been found already. Moriah thinks Tim planted it there, and she shares this with Jem. Jem jumps on that theory to keep the blame away from her.
Meanwhile on the Yanu tribe, Bhanu doesn’t like how he’s being treated. He says everyone treats him like he’s dumb. He says he’s a super fan of Survivor, but he admits he struggles with social skills. Kenzie later approaches Bhanu and apologizes for snapping at him. Bhanu says it makes him feel better. Kenzie explains in her confessional that they need to placate Bhanu in case Yanu goes on a winning streak and make it to the merge together.
Playing the game too hard
Back on the Nami tribe, Soda feels like there’s a solid trio alliance with Hunter, Tevin, and herself. However, she doesn’t want to get complacent. She checks in with Venus and Liz too. However, Tevin believes Soda is playing the game too hard. He notices her having individual chats with everybody on the tribe. Tevin talks to Hunter and shares his concerns about Soda. They agree to vote her out if they go to tribal council. In his confessional, Hunter says he’s wanted Soda to go since she’s his competition for Tevin’s closet ally. Tevin talks to Liz about Soda next, and Liz believes Soda is the one to beat. She can see Soda in the Final 3, so she’s on board to vote out Soda. In his confessional, Tevin says he, Hunter, and Liz will vote for Soda if they lose the immunity challenge.
The tribes get tree mail hinting about the upcoming immunity challenge. Moriah is nervous since she has a fear of heights, and the challenge will involve jumping. Her tribe members help her practice jumping high, but it’s to no avail. Next it’s time for the immunity challenge. Tribe members will have to climb up a net and onto a tower. Next, they must jump into the ocean and retrieve buoys. One person must land three buoys into three baskets. The first two tribes to complete the challenge will win immunity.
Immunity challenge
The challenge begins, and Hunter gets an early lead for the Nami tribe. Eventually, Siga takes the lead as Yanu falls behind. Tim is the first to start shooting baskets for his tribe. He lands one basket, but struggles landing the next two. Hunter starts shooting baskets, and he lands the first for Nami. Q also lands the first basket for Yanu. Hunter lands the second. Hunter lands the third basket. Nami wins immunity! Tim lands the second basket for Siga. Q lands the second basket for Yanu. Both tribes only have one basket left. Tim lands the third basket for Siga. Siga wins immunity! Yanu will return to tribal council.
Yanu returns to camp. Q, Kenzie, and Tiffany agree to vote out Bhanu tonight. Bhanu doesn’t have a vote tonight since he lost it at the journey. Bhanu is determined to find a hidden immunity idol to save himself. Bhanu doesn’t know that Tiffany already found the idol.
Bhanu later has a meltdown, saying he shouldn’t have even been cast on Survivor if his time on the show would end so soon. Bhanu later gets on his knees as he cries and begs Tiffany for help. Tiffany tells Bhanu to get up; she won’t talk to him while he’s on his knees. Tiffany is blunt and tells Bhanu she’s going to write his name tonight. Bhanu says five seconds of honesty is what cost him his game. He shouldn’t have told Q and Tiffany what he revealed about the tribe at the journey. Bhanu says he’s an emotional person, and he’s not done telling his story. He plans to share more at tribal council.
Tribal council
It’s time for tribal council. Jeff first talks about the journey Bhanu went on. Bhanu candidly tells Jeff that he lost his vote and shared too much information about the Yanu tribe to Liz and Ben. Tiffany says Bhanu did not understand he was getting played by sharing so much information. Bhanu says the game hasn’t been clicking for him. He thinks he’s in a grave too deep that he can’t get out of. He knows he’s going home tonight.
Q, Kenzie, and Tiffany also tell Jeff they’re voting for Bhanu tonight. Bhanu says he has no vote, no idols, and no alliances. He says he messed up his game. Jeff asks about Bhanu’s Survivor journey. Bhanu gets emotional and says he just wanted to share his story. He grew up in poverty in India. His living condition was similar to their camp life. He’s the first from his family to graduate high school and move to the United States. He wanted to inspire other people like him. He is thankful for the opportunity to be on Survivor. Q tells Bhanu they could count on Bhanu for a lot of things. Jeff says what Bhanu has done for his life is remarkable. Kenzie says Bhanu has won all of their hearts.
The tribe doesn’t even cast votes on parchment. Jeff asks Bhanu to walk over when he’s ready. Bhanu says goodbye to his tribe members, walks over to Jeff, and gets his torch snuffed. Bhanu is the fourth person voted out of Survivor 46.
And that wraps up tonight’s episode of Survivor. Thanks for reading, and come back next week for another live recap.
