Survivor Season 47 Week 13 Recap and Live Blog

A two-hour edition of Survivor 47 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

The episode begins with Jeff giving a rundown of the remaining players. Andy had one of the worst starts to the game, but he’s still here. Sam had power early in the game, but he’s been on the bottom since the merge. Genevieve is well-rounded, and that’s why she’s a target. Sue has an idol, but she lost her last remaining ally Caroline. Teeny is an emotional player, but her social skills have kept her in the game. Rachel has won immunity and advantages, but she’s the biggest threat in the game.

The tribe returns to camp after Caroline was voted out. Sue lost her last remaining Tuku member. She’s glad she has an idol to keep herself safe, but she is still upset. She says she wants to rip Andy’s head off his shoulders. Meanwhile, Andy, Sam, and Genevieve celebrate the success of their Operation Italy plan. Genevieve says Operation Italy was a long shot, but it worked.

Teeny says one single thing did not go the way she wanted it to. Teeny says she, Sue, and Rachel look like idiots. Teeny asks Andy for an explanation. He says he thought it would be better to split up Caroline and Sue. He denies that Sam and Genevieve knew what he was going to do. Teeny also asks Sam and Genevieve for an explanation. Sam plays dumb, and he paints the outcome of the vote as a “happy accident.” In her confessional, Teeny says she trusts no one. She doesn’t know her path to the end. Nonetheless, she views Rachel as the biggest threat, and she’s willing to vote with Andy, Sam, and Genevieve to send Rachel out of the game.

Unbeknownst to them, Rachel eavesdrops on their conversation. Rachel overhears their entire conversation. She knows she is their target. She also hears Teeny telling them about her Block-a-Vote advantage. Rachel now knows she cannot trust Teeny.

Sue says she needs to stand up and start playing the game hard. Even though she has an idol, she wants to find another one. She goes hunting for one early in the morning. Rachel spots Sue digging around the well, and Rachel decides to tell Sue she has the idol. Sue feels like she can trust Rachel, but she chooses not to tell Rachel she has an idol too. Sue knows everyone is targeting Rachel, so she hopes she can hold onto her idol for one more tribal council. Rachel has no other allies in the game, so she hopes she made the right choice telling Sue about her idol. Rachel says if she wins the next immunity challenge, then she can make it to the end of the game.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They will be competing in the water as they maneuver buoys through a series of obstacles. Lastly, they must complete a puzzle. The winner will win immunity and a steak dinner at the sanctuary. The challenge begins, and Sam takes the early lead. Genevieve eventually takes the lead away from Sam, but he’s right on her tail. Genevieve is the first to begin working on the puzzle, but everyone else joins her on the platform soon afterwards. They are all building their puzzles at the same time. Rachel and Genevieve are in the lead, and it turns into a showdown between the two of them. No one else is even close. Genevieve is the first to complete her puzzle. Genevieve wins immunity! Jeff tells her she can pick one person to join her at the sanctuary. Sam shakes his head, telling Genevieve to not pick him. As a result, Genevieve picks Sue. Jeff says she can pick one more person. She chooses Teeny.

We next see Genevieve, Sue, and Teeny at the sanctuary. Genevieve hopes she can paint Rachel as the biggest threat, but she doesn’t want to push too aggressively. Teeny is on board with voting out Rachel. Sue knows Rachel has an idol, but she doesn’t tell them. Sue knows she and Rachel will be deciding who goes home tonight. Teeny also lets it slip in front of Sue that Genevieve has a hidden immunity idol. Teeny blames the wine for her big mouth. In her confessional, Genevieve is actually glad Teeny spilled the beans. The idol is fake, but Genevieve wants people to believe she has a real hidden immunity idol.

Back at camp, Sam, Andy, and Rachel chat by the beach. They are the last remaining Gata tribe members, and they want to clear the air. Sam thought Rachel didn’t want him in her plans. He adds that Rachel is the biggest threat to win the game. Rachel says she knew everything was riding on this immunity challenge, and she’s mad she lost. She says she will remain friends with Sam and Andy outside of the game. Rachel also plays up her sadness to make them believe she has accepted her elimination tonight. However, she’s going to play her hidden immunity idol tonight. They don’t know it yet, but Sam or Andy will be voted out instead.

Rachel talks to Andy alone. She tells him that Sam has better relationships and would win against him. She adds that people underestimate Andy. She pitches that Andy would have a better chance winning the game against her than Sam. In his confessional, Andy says he’s closing zero doors. He doesn’t know what he’s going to do.

Genevieve, Sue, and Teeny return to camp. Genevieve hopes the plan stays the same, but she’s concerned the plan could shift to something else. Sam says he feels uneasy. He believes he is Rachel’s target tonight. While Rachel, Sue, and Andy are sitting in the shelter, Rachel tells Andy that she’s using her Block-a-Vote advantage against Sam. She will be voting for Sam too. She adds she wants the Final 3 to be her, Sue, and Andy. In his confessional, Andy believes it would be a bold move if he flips again and votes out Sam with Rachel and Sue.

Later, Rachel and Sue talk game. Sue tells Rachel she must play her hidden immunity idol tonight. Her pitches are not working, and everyone has already agreed to vote her out. Rachel and Sue also agree to vote out Sam tonight. Afterwards, Andy talks to Rachel. He candidly tells her that it’s in his best interest to vote her out tonight. Andy is convinced Rachel is going on the jury next, so he tells her about his game to give her a clear picture. He’s already trying to win her vote at the end. This gives Rachel pause. She admits Andy is playing a better game than most have given him credit for. Now she’s wondering if she should vote out Andy tonight instead of Sam.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff says it was a massive blindside last time. Teeny says she did not understand how Caroline went home. She thinks it was an accidental situation. Sam agrees that everyone was disconnected on their role in the vote. Rachel disagrees. Rachel says Andy flipped, and they don’t need to pretend there was confusion. Andy admits that he did flip. Rachel says today was her do-or-die day. Rachel says everyone told her they are voting for her tonight. Andy admits he lied to Rachel a lot in the game, but he wanted to be honest with her tonight. Genevieve says she and Rachel are on opposite sides of the tribe. Rachel jokes they are like Harry Potter and Voldemort. Genevieve adds that Rachel could still stay in the game since they never know what’s going to happen. Sam says he has to vote for Rachel since he can’t work with her moving forward. Teeny says they all need to be aware of their own skillsets going into the endgame. She doesn’t want to go against Rachel in the immunity challenge or the fire-making challenge. Sue lets Jeff know that she is not voting for Rachel tonight. She wants to be loyal. Jeff asks about Rachel’s experience. Rachel says she was able to have fun playing the game, and it was a fulfilling experience. Afterwards, it’s time for the vote.

We see Andy and Genevieve vote for Rachel. Sam’s vote has been blocked, so he cannot vote.

Before Jeff reads the votes, Rachel plays her hidden immunity idol on herself.

Andy is the thirteenth person voted out and the sixth member of the jury.

The tribe returns to camp after tribal council. Rachel says it was fun that everyone else was in the dark. She was the only person to know what was going to happen. Genevieve hopes she can continue to fool everyone that her fake idol is real. In her confessional, Rachel says she and Genevieve are adversaries in the game. In her confessional, Genevieve says they don’t hide the fact that they want each other out of the game. Genevieve jokes that the island isn’t big enough for the both of them.

The next morning, Rachel goes searching for a hidden immunity idol. Everyone else back at camp goes through Rachel’s bag to see if there’s an idol there. In his confessional, Sam says he’s irritated that Rachel is still in the game. He’s been targeting her for a long time, yet she is still in the game. He just hopes Rachel doesn’t find another hidden immunity idol. Sue still has her hidden immunity idol, but no one else knows. Genevieve and Rachel also joke about their frenemy relationship in the game. They are targeting each other, but they can still be on friendly terms. Rachel asks Genevieve who wins the game if neither of them make it to the Final 3. Genevieve says Sam would win.

Back at camp, Sam, Teeny, and Sue are annoyed by Genevieve and Rachel. The two are so outspoken and confident that one of them will win the game. It doesn’t make the three of them feel good. None of them want to go to the Final 3 with Rachel or Genevieve.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They must dig under logs and then balance on a wobbly beam to stack six balls on a stand. If any balls fall, then they must reset their stack. The first to stack six balls will win immunity. The challenge begins. Genevieve is in the lead, but Rachel is close behind. However, they end up dropping their balls. The challenge resets over and over again as everyone keeps dropping their balls. Eventually, it’s a showdown between Rachel and Genevieve. Both are close to stacking all their balls. However, Genevieve’s stack falls while Rachel places her last ball. Rachel wins immunity!

The tribe returns to camp. Sam says Rachel is the favorite to win this game. Sam notes in his confessional that he’s the likely target. Even though he’s close to Genevieve, he must save himself. He tells Teeny that Genevieve’s hidden immunity idol is fake. He adds that he made the fake idol with her. Sam hopes that Genevieve will be voted out with this new information. Teeny is stunned to learn this. She says she’s allowed Genevieve to continuously trick her throughout the game. She feels stupid.

Later, Teeny tells Sue and Rachel that Genevieve’s idol is fake. Rachel and Sue are doubtful. They are worried that it’s a ruse by Sam and Genevieve so that they can control the vote. Teeny approaches Genevieve to find out if she will tell her if the idol is fake or not. Teeny tells Genevieve what Sam told her. Genevieve comes clean that her idol is fake. She’s also disappointed that Sam revealed her secret. However, she’s hopeful that Rachel and Sue will still vote for Sam instead of her. Teeny brings this information back to Rachel and Sue. They are undecided what to do. Sue believes the idol is fake, but Rachel still thinks it’s real. Do they pile all their votes on Genevieve, or do they split between Sam and Genevieve?

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff first talks about the immunity challenge. Rachel says it feels amazing to win immunity. Genevieve says she was trying so hard to beat Rachel since she’s such a big threat in the game. Jeff notes that tonight is the last time someone will be voted out. Teeny also brings up that she was told that Genevieve’s hidden immunity idol is fake. However, the fact Sam brought her this information makes her question if this is a ruse and the idol is actually real. Rachel agrees they were spinning with conspiracy theories. Is the idol fake, or are Sam and Genevieve trying to control the vote? Sam explains that it was in his best interest to let that information get out there. He says if you want information to leak, then tell Teeny. Teeny speculates that her decision tonight could win her the game or lose her the game. Sam tells Teeny she can just vote for Genevieve, but Teeny is confused since Sam and Genevieve come up with plans together. Jeff asks if this is the biggest vote of the season. Sam says it gets bigger and bigger. While he’s talking, Teeny and Rachel whisper to each other. Teeny thinks they should just vote for Genevieve, but Rachel thinks that Teeny will “get the biggest ricochet” if they vote for Genevieve. Afterwards, it’s time for the vote.

We see Sam and Genevieve vote for each other. Teeny takes a long time to decide who to vote for, but she finally writes down a name.

Before Jeff reads the votes, Genevieve admits her idol is fake. Sue also stands up and plays her hidden immunity idol for herself.
