Survivor Season 48 Week 6 Recap and Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor 48 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

The episode begins with the Civa tribe returning to camp after tribal council. Sai didn’t know Bianca was receiving votes. She accuses Cedrek of lying to her again. Cedrek explains that Bianca told him she didn’t have a vote minutes before tribal council. He only had time to tell Chrissy to vote for Bianca. He didn’t have time to give a heads up to Sai or Mitch. Cedrek says he’s the reason why Sai is still in the game. In his confessional, Mitch says tribal council was a nightmare. He feels like a fool for being the only one who voted for Sai.

The next morning, the three tribes learn they will be merging. All three tribes will be living on the Lagi beach. They all hug and greet each other as Civa and Vula arrive. In her confessional, Sai says she is looking forward to working with Mary. However, in her confessional, Mary says she wants nothing to do with Sai.

All the castaways gather around a note informing them there is a hidden advantage somewhere in the woods. This will help one person in the upcoming immunity challenge. Afterwards, they all dash into the woods to find it. Charity spots it, but Sai runs past her and grabs it. Sai has won the advantage.

Joe is excited to reconnect with Eva. They talk game, and they confirm they’re still each other’s #1 ally. Eva lets Joe know that she has bonded with David. They discuss forming an alliance with the two of them, David, Shauhin, and Kyle. Eva also lets Joe know Star gave her the immunity idol. Later, Joe and David agree to work together. David wants all the strong people teaming up too. David catches Kyle up, and he tells him he’s on board. Kyle warns David about Shauhin though. In his confessional, Kyle calls this alliance music to his ears, but he admits Kamilla is still his #1 ally.

Charity talks game with Mitch and Kamilla. She wants to stay Civa strong. Mitch is on board, and Charity tells Kamilla and Mitch that Eva has a hidden immunity idol. Charity wants to vote out Eva to break up the Eva and Joe alliance and flush out the idol. Later, Charity tells Star to ask for her idol back. In her confessional, Star believes that Charity is stirring the pot to cause drama. After her conversation with Charity, Star tells Eva what Charity said. After Star walks away, Joe tells Eva to not give the immunity idol back. Eva says she won’t, and Eva says Charity is her target too.

It’s time for the challenge. There will be two teams of six. They must go through a muddy obstacle and then use a grappling hook to retrieve a bag with a key. They will then go up a ramp and then unlock puzzle pieces. The first team to complete the puzzle will win the merge feast. In addition, the winning team will then compete individually for immunity. Before the challenge, Jeff reveals Sai’s advantage. She skips the first challenge and advances to the second challenge. She will also get to eat.

The rest of the castaways are divided into the two teams. The Orange Team is Charity, Eva, Shauhin, Cedrek, Mitch, and Joe. The Purple Team is Mary, Chrissy, Kamilla, Kyle, David, and Star. The challenge begins, and it’s fairly even until Purple reaches the puzzle first. They have a big time advantage, but Orange catches up quickly. They assemble their puzzle while Purple begins to slow down. However, they don’t catch up fast enough as Purple still completes the puzzle first. The Purple team wins the merge feast!

The second challenge begins immediately afterwards. They must each balance a ball on a pole. As the challenge progresses, they will extend the length of the pole to make the challenge more difficult. The last one standing will win immunity. The challenge begins. After a short while, Chrissy is the first to drop her ball. Kamilla drops her ball next. She’s followed by Mary, and then Sai. David drops his ball next. Kyle and Star are the last two remaining. Star’s ball drops. Kyle wins immunity!

We next see the merge feast. While enjoying their food, Mary proposes game talk. Star throws out Charity’s name. Chrissy says she heard Eva’s name. They also bring up how Mitch has a Block-a-Vote advantage and Eva has a hidden immunity idol. This is new information to Sai. Sai is willing to vote for Eva since she has an idol. David would rather vote for Charity.

Meanwhile at camp, Cedrek blames himself for his team losing. They discuss tribal council, and Joe says it’s an awful experience. Some people haven’t been to tribal council yet. Mitch predicts tribal council will be chaotic. Charity and Mitch talk game. Charity wonders if targeting Eva might be too tricky, so she wonders if voting out Sai would be easier. Joe, Eva and Shauhin talk game. They want to vote out Charity, and they’re confident David and Kyle will be on board. In his confessional, Shauhin says he doesn’t think the original Civa tribe are all currently aligned as one unit, but he doesn’t want to give them the chance to group together.

The merge feast ends, and the game talk continues with everyone back at camp. Mary tells Sai and Cedrek that Charity is the easy vote. Sai counters that Eva and Joe are too close, but she doesn’t push back too hard. Meanwhile, Kyle gives Eva a heads up that Sai threw her name out. Eva is nervous about tribal council. Later, Charity, Eva, and Chrissy discuss voting out Sai. Eva goes back to Joe and Shauhin to let them know that Charity wants to vote out Sai. Joe says Charity was the original plan, but there is merit to voting out Sai too. Mary tells Joe that Sai is dangerous at tribal council. Mary compares Sai to a snake and Charity to a turtle. In his confessional, Shauhin admits that he doesn’t trust Sai, but he doesn’t want to give Civa six strong numbers. In his confessional, David recognizes that the others would want to target one of the original Civa tribe members. He could stick with the Civa numbers, but he doesn’t trust Charity or Mitch. However, he doesn’t trust Sai either.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff asks what is it like back at camp. Shauhin says it’s a huge house party. Mary says they’re like dogs at a dog park. Eva says she likes talking to people, but she can’t pick up on social cues like everyone else. Joe says you have to be vulnerable to build alliances and relationships. Shauhin didn’t expect to share details of his life with people in the game that he hasn’t shared with people back home. Charity relates to that, but she reminds them that the goal is to win Survivor. She’s concerned certain people didn’t talk with her today. Sai says it’s been dysfunctional. She notices cliques within the tribe. Eva says she went to everyone instead of waiting for people to come talk to her. David thinks this vote is important and will set the stage for the rest of the game. Finally, it’s time to vote.

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for…
