Courtney Barnes and his flamboyant stage act returned to the So You Think You can Dance Memphis auditions this year with a new routine. Last season, his shtick was a Wendy Williams impression. This year is…well I’m not sure what to call it, but his audition for the street team was pretty entertaining. He managed to wrangle a ticket to Las Vegas.
But if you thought his 15 minutes of fame were up, think again! Courtney had another opportunity to “take the stage” so to speak, as an “eyewitness” to a car accident in Jackson, Missisippi involving a street cruiser. A news video of the “entertainer” describing the accident to reporters has gone viral.
Courtney hilariously embellishes the story, as straight faced reporters attempt to get “just the facts” from an eyewitness who is only interested in telling the most dramatic tale possible.
“I’m a witness here, and what I seen is a HORRIBLE TRAGIC SITUATION.” (The officer involved is recovering). “The police car just twisted around like a tornado, girl!” It’s a dramatic reenactment not to be missed.
But alas–with fame, comes digging into a star’s personal past. It turns out Courtney has a warrant out for his arrest for stealing a Van’s bucket hat from Swell-O-Phonic in Fondren. Ridgeland Police also say the dancer has over $1,600 in fines, mostly traffic-related. He’ll face a contempt of court charge for letting the fines sit unpaid. Oh noes.
Here’s Courtney wearing said stolen hat.
Was it worth it Courtney? Really? Was it worth it? The Las Vegas round has already been taped, and it’s a pretty safe bet that Courtney was cut there.
