The season finale of The Amazing Race 35 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.
The Final 3 will run the final leg in Seattle, Washington. They will find their next clue at the Space Needle. Rob & Corey are the first team to begin the leg. They say it’s a confidence boost to start in first place. They plan to take everything one step at a time and to not get too ahead of themselves. Greg & John depart in second place. They are confident in themselves after the many first place finishes they’ve had throughout the race. Joel & Garrett depart third. They are pumped to have made it this far. They say they are meant to be here, and they won’t hold anything back.
The teams arrive in Seattle. They must drive themselves to the Space Needle. Rob & Corey arrive there first, but Joel & Garrett and Greg & John are right behind them. They must put on harnesses attached to a rope and retrieve the clue atop the Space Needle. Corey gets the clue first. He learns he and Rob must now proceed to Chihuly Garden and Glass, a museum exhibit. Greg & John and Joel & Garrett are only minutes behind.
Rob & Corey arrive at Chihuly Garden and Glass. They learn they have a Seattle Scramble. They have three tasks they must complete, but they can do them in any order. The three challenge are Grunge, Grab, and Glass. Grunge has them work as roadies for a grunge band. Grab has them performing a trapeze challenge. Glass has them molding melting glass. Greg & John and Joel & Garrett get their clue for the Seattle Scramble too.
Glass Challenge
Greg & John arrive at the Glass challenge first, and Joel & Garrett arrive right afterwards. Professionals demonstrate how to blow glass before they get started. Meanwhile, Rob & Corey are the first to arrive at the Grab challenge. Each team member must perform a trapeze act requiring them to flip over a bar and grab onto someone else’s hands. Corey completes it on his first attempt, but Rob does not. He must try again. Back at the Glass challenge, both Greg & John and Joel & Garrett are having struggles.
Joel & Garrett are the first to complete the Glass challenge. Greg & John broke a part of their glass bubble, so they must try again. Rob also is struggling with the trapeze challenge, but he finally completes it after his eighth attempt. Joel & Garrett and Rob & Corey are on their way to the Grunge challenge. Greg & John, however, are still struggling. They fail their fifth attempt at the Glass challenge.
Greg & John finally complete the Glass challenge. They also make their way to the Grunge challenge. Joel & Garrett are the first team to arrive there. The task requires them to set up the band’s equipment on the stage. Joel & Garrett get their stage set up just as Rob & Corey arrive. Joel & Garrett are seemingly in the lead, but they fail their first two inspections. They need to figure out what they have wrong. And at that moment, Greg & John arrive. Nonetheless, Joel & Garrett realize their mistake and complete the challenge. They can now proceed to the Grab challenge.
The last challenge before the finish line
Rob & Corey and Greg & John are struggling to find all their equipment, but Rob & Corey manage to find the rest of their power cords. Rob & Corey complete the challenge and are currently in second place as they make their way to the Glass challenge. Greg & John still cannot figure out their missing amp is right under the lid. They keep lifting the lid without noticing the amp is attached to it. They finally find it and finish setting up the stage. They can now proceed to the Grab challenge.
Rob & Corey begin the Glass challenge as Joel & Garrett begin the Grab challenge. Joel & Garrett are still there by the time Greg & John arrive. Joel is the first to complete the task, but Garrett needs to do it too. He also manages to complete it before Greg & John do their first attempts. Joel & Garrett get the third part of their clue telling them to go to Kenmore Air. They ask locals for directions. John completes the trapeze challenge on his first attempt, but Greg fails his first attempt. He needs to try again. He eventually completes it, putting them in second place. However, Rob & Corey complete the Glass challenge too. All three teams are currently making their way to Kenmore for what is likely the last challenge before the Finish Line.
Joel & Garrett arrive at Kenmore Air. The final task is to arrange kayaks. Each kayak has the name of a Roadblock or Detour. They must arrange them in chronological order as they encountered them on the race. Joel & Garrett make headway on the task before Greg & John or Rob & Corey arrive. Greg & John eventually arrive, but Rob & Corey seemingly got lost on the drive there. Joel & Garrett get their kayaks checked, but they do not pass their first attempt.
GREG & JOHN WIN THE AMAZING RACE!
Rob & Corey finally arrive at Kenmore Air, but they are way behind Joel & Garrett and Greg & John. Joel & Garrett are seemingly close to completing the task, but they cannot figure out their mistake. Greg & John, however, successfully complete the challenge. They can now proceed to the Finish Line in Marymoor Park. After they leave, Joel & Garrett finally realize their mistake. Both teams are rushing to the Finish Line, but which team will get there first?
John says he couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Greg says he’s so grateful for his younger brother John and calls him his best friend. Later, Joel & Garrett arrive as Team #2. It was a close finish as John estimates they were twenty seconds apart. Joel & Garrett are thankful for each other and say the race has brought them closer together. Rob & Corey eventually arrive as Team #3. Rob says he’s very proud of Corey. Corey is proud he got to do the race with his dad. He says they built each other up and have a powerful relationship. Rob says they will always cherish the memories they made together on the race.
