The tops of the first BB200 and Hot 100 chart of the new decade are the same as those which ended the decade. “Fine Lines” from X-Factor UK contestant Harry Styles spends a second week at the top of the BB2200 while former Idol judge Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” tops the Hot 100. Mariah becomes the first artist to top the Hot 100 in four different decades. She had 14 songs top the Hot 100 in the 90s and 4 in the 2000s. It is “All I Want for Christmas” that gave her a Hot 100 chart topper in the 10’s and 20’s. With 72.2M streams, AIWFC topped the streaming chart and had the 8th best streaming week in history.
“Fine Line” moved 89K equivalent albums last week (down from 478K last week, -81%). Of those, 47K were traditional album sales (393K last week, -88%). Joining Harry Styles in the top 10 of the BB200 are Sing-Off winners Pentatonix. Pentatonix’s compilation album “The Best of Pentatonix Christmas” is 7th on the chart with 62K equivalent albums (up 12%).
