The Masked Singer Quarter Finals feature Gumball, Clock, Poodle Moth and Goldfish

The Masked Singer season 11 Quarterfinals will UNMASK and send an act home. Nick Cannon hosts, while Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong sit on the judges panel alongside new judge, Rita Ora.

The final four contestants open the show with panelist Rita Ora’s hit song, “Praising You!” Throughout the episode, contestants sing their hearts out to songs like “Price Tag,” “I’m Yours,” “Get On Your Feet,” and “Unforgettable.”

The returning mystery celebrities include Final Four contestants Gumball, Clock, Poodle Moth and Goldfish.

There’s a corny Amazon Prime tie in that includes a blue button the judges can hit that will trigger a clue. But they can only hit it once.

Clock

Clues: Clock is a veteran singer. She shares that her mother didn’t want her to pursue show business because she was a young mother. In the end, her mom helped her out and her son now works on her tours.

Performance: Get On Your Feet by Gloria Estefan – Clock is a real pro and has obviously been around the block a few times. Although she’s good, the older singers usually don’t win the show. On Stage Clue: The men in black bring in a ringing telephone. It’s her son “You performed for the Pope.” She’s “crying” but it sounds pretty fake. Robin guesses Stephanie Mills. Jenny guesses one of Sister Sledge. Rita guesses Shirley Bassey.

PREDICTION: The internets say Clock is Disco queen, Thelma Houston. Her “Don’t Leave Me This Way” was a No. 1 Billboard hit and it won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the Grammys in 1977. Thelma, who started her career as she raised two children as a single mom, is constantly touring. And she performed for the Pope in 1995

Gumball

Clues: He has struggled with self-confidence. He was an athlete, which gives him fight.

Performance: I’m Yours by Jason Mraz – It’s a good song pick for his smooth voice. Gumball is surprisingly soulful this week. He’s improved over the episodes on which he’s competed. On Stage Clue: The ringing phone is the theme His wife calls and is proud of him. She mentions he performed off-Broadway. He calls his wife the most incredible person. Robin guesses James Vanderbeek. Jenny guesses Derek Hough. Ken guesses Taran Killam. Ken wants to push the Prime button. An underpaid Prime driver arrives with an Amazon delivery. It’s a kid’s doctors kit. Ken, an actual doctor, is very excited. He still thinks it Taran Killam. Nick keeps reminding Ken that Taran was on his show Wild and Out.

Prediction: The internets say Gumball is actor Scott Porter. His wife has Huntingdon’s disease. He starred in Dear John with Channing Tatum. He’s played several superhero characters. And based on the clues from last time, he got his start performing in theme parts. Scott starred in Friday Night Lights and appeared in Hart of Dixie and The Good Wife. Porter is a good guess. Poodle Moth

Clues: Rita hit the Ding Dong Keep it On button for Poodle Moth after she lost the Battle Royale. At one point her finances were dire. Then, she got her big break.

Performance: Price Tag by Jessie J and B.O.B. – This isn’t a great song pick for Poodle. So far, she’s mostly performed country songs, which is the genre where she’s comfortable. She’s also doing the B.O.B. rap parts too. Hm. On Stage Cue: The caller wishes poodle moth good luck and mentions her Golden Globe nomination. It’s her sister. Rita guesses Sheryl Crow. Ken guesses Riley Keough. Jenny guesses Chrissy Metz (That’s who it is).

Goldfish

Clues: She’s been through a lot growing up in the business. She couldn’t be perfect. But she is resilient. “You have to keep reinventing yourself.”

Performance: Unforgettable by Natalie Cole – Goldfish tackles the classic standard like a Broadway star. She’s a pro singer. Young, talented, and she’s my pick to win it all. On Stage Clue: “You never back down from a challenge, and you love to perform live.” The call is from her husband. Ken guesses Nicole Scherzinger. Ha ha. No. Robin guesses Hilary Duff. Jenny guesses Julianne Hough. Hm. One of the judges guessed Goldfish correctly last time.

Prediction: No Rita guess? Last time she guessed that Vanessa Hudgens was behind the mask, and that is a very good bet. During the Group A final, she even mentioned that Vanessa lost her father the night before she performed in the LIVE production of Grease on FOX. The clues keep pointing to big ups and downs in show biz, and Vanessa certainly has had a bumpy ride since starring in the High School Musical series.

First result – Smackdown

The two singers with the least amount of votes are Poodle Moth and Gumball. Clock and Goldfish move on to the semifinal. Poodle Moth and Gumball sing Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time in their own styles. Poodle Moth is first, singing the song with a country twang. Gumball is next, and performs in a pop rock style. Both singers deserved to sing for a spot. Who deserves to move on? Maybe Gumball by a hair. The panel will choose the winner.

Results: A singer is UNMASKED, the winner moves on to the semifinal.

The singer taking the last spot in the semifinals is…Gumball! That makes sense. Poodle Moth is eliminated and will be unmasked. Final guesses: Robin: Shania Twain. Ken: Melissa McCarthy. Jenny says no not her cousin! Jenny: Chrissy Metz. Robin: Faith Hill. And Poodle Moth is Chrissy Metz from the TV show This is Us. She did the show to show people she could sing. Poor thing is SWEATING SO MUCH.
