The Masked Singer 11 Group A Final: Who Was Unmasked on Queen Night?
The Masked Singer season 11 Group A final airs on week 6 with a night devoted to the music of Queen. Nick Cannon hosts, while Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong sit on the judges panel alongside new judge, Rita Ora.
The returning mystery celebrities include Group A contestants Ugly Sweater, Goldfish, and Starfish. TWO celebrities will be unmasked by the end of the night. The last Group A mask moves on to the Quarterfinals.
The show kicks off with the remaining masks performing “We Are the Champions”
Ugly Sweater
Clues: They say what’s old is new again. He’s recycled and recycled again over the years. He’s inspired a ton of stars by “doing my own thing.”
Performance: I Want to Break Free – Ugly Sweater is obviously a classic singer who many contemporary artists admire. He’s older, but still has it in terms of vocal skill and swag. Robin seems to know who Ugly Sweater is! This week’s onstage clues are “connection” clues. Nick is the clue. “I never forget giving you dating advice. And honestly, you didn’t forget either.” Nick probably knows who this is too. Rita guesses Smokey Robinson. NOPE. Jenny guesses Aaron Neville NOPE. Robin guesses Charlie Wilson. YEP. It’s Charlie. The internets agree.
Starfish
Clues: After her best two gal pals got her job…she took the place of someone who got fired. She put her spin on it, and it worked. An old fashioned hotel bell is a clue. Plus, a rabbit and a telescope.
Performance: Under Pressure – Starfish is going home this week for sure. She’s very dramatic, and manages to stay on key. While she’s entertaining, she’s not a good singer. On Stage Clue: A magician delivers the clue. “Jenny” Starfish says “Last time we hung out I offered you tickets to my show. You can consider this one on the house too.” Robin guesses Kate McKinnon. Rita guesses Amy Schumer. Ken guesses Kate Flannery. KEN GETS ONE RIGHT. Starfish is likely Kate Flannery from The Office and Dancing with the Stars.
Goldfish
Clues: She tries to appreciate every moment. She had just gotten a dream role. The night before her debut she just lost her No. 1 supporter. Welp. Goldfish just gave it away!. She reached down inside and performed for that one seat not filled.
Performance: The Show Must Go On – Shocking if Goldfish doesn’t move on to the Quarterfinals. She’s the best singer of the three. And that backstory will move the audience to vote for her. She works the stage like a pro. On Stage Clue. Galileo is delivering the clue. HA HA HA. “Ken.” Goldfish says, “You’re ridiculous. You obviously haven’t changed since the last time we worked together.” Robin guesses Hilary Duff. Jenny guesses Selena Gomez. Rita guesses Vanessa Hudgens. DING Rita got it. She even mentioned that Vanessa lost her father the night before she performed in the LIVE production of Grease on FOX.
First unmasking
The first singer unmasking tonight is…Ugly Sweater! Surprised it’s not Starfish! But she’ll lose the Battle Royale against Goldfish. Final guesses: Ken: Al Green Jenny: Aaron Neville Rita: Smokey Robinson. Robin: Charlie Wilson. And Ugly Sweater is…Charlie Wilson! He’s the former lead singer of The Gap Band. People call him “Uncle Charlie.” Charlie sings out with “You Dropped a Bomb on Me” a hit by The Gap Band.
Battle Royale
Goldfish and Starfish sing “Another One Bites the Dust” in their own styles. Goldfish goes first and it’s very theatrical. Starfish follows and she couldn’t keep up. BATTLE OF THE FISHES. The panel chooses the winner. There are no saves left.
