The Masked Singer 13: New masks, new themes and much more!
The Masked Singer returns to FOX Wednesday February 12 for its “lucky” 13th season. Once more 15 masked celebrities will compete for the Golden Masked Trophy wearing the goofiest costumes ever! Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora return to the judges panel. Once again, Nick Cannon hosts.
The premiere features five celebrities including Ant, Coral, Paparazzo, Fuzzy Peas and Honey Pot. Later in the season fans will meet Bat, Griffin, Boogie Woogie, Cherry Blossom Stud Muffin, Yorkie, Space Ranger, Nessy and more.
Introducing recurring clue character, Lucky Duck
In addition, The Masked Singer will introduce a “clue” character called Lucky Duck, who will pop in throughout the season to offer luck-related clues.” Lucky Duck will be unmasked at the end of season, and the network notes that “there could be a very special connection to someone on the show!”
The two minute preview below features glimpses of the new mask, plus Lucky Duck doing his thing. Who wants to bet that British accent is totally FAKE FAKE FAKE?
Lucky Duck’s role seems to be similar to that of Cluedle-Doo, who also interrupted the competition to share additional clues . He eventually performed “Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison and was unmasked as Donnie Wahlberg, the husband of judge Jenny McCarthy.
New themes
The season will also feature all-new themes for each week. The show will devote Week 2 to the beloved Shrek franchise. But look out for Ghostbusters, the 100th anniversary of The Grand Ole Opry, Rat Pack, Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods, Carnival, Boy Bands, Decades and Soundtrack Of My Life.
