Be ready for a huge shocker on Wednesday’s The Masked Singer. Or keep reading and find out what happens!
A promo that aired after The Masked Singer premiere last week, promised a moment “so unexpected, so surprising, it will have everybody talking!” It’s a thing that has NEVER happened in the history of the show! According to judge Ken Jeong, “It’s gonna change the show forever!”
Generally, I’d write a off a promo promising DRAMA LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE as hyperbole. But actually, the twist is pretty big! For a pretty big spoiler, read past the video below…

A mask quits ahead of the audience vote!
A source close to production told E! news that during this week’s The Masked Singer episode, before any of the voting begins, one of the contestants takes off their mask and eliminates themselves from the competition.
The move takes host Nick Cannon and all of the panelists, including Ken, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, completely by surprise. As a result, they decide not to hold a vote and all of the other contestants in Group B move on automatically.
To make it clear, every mask performs. But just as Nick is about to begin the virtual vote, the contestant unmasks themselves.
Which contestant just ups and quits the show? Fans will have to tune in to Wednesday’s episode to find out. Six new costumed singers, aka Group B, will perform, including: Baby Alien, Crocodile, Gremlin, Seahorse, Serpent, and Whatchamacallit.
Why did the mystery celebrity quit? Did the contestant have an emergency or a schedule conflict? Or did they decide being cooped up in an oppressive costume was just way too much. Y’all will have to tune in on Wednesday, September 30 at 8 pm ET/PT on FOX to find out.
