As soon as The Masked Singer contestant “Bull” took the stage to close the premiere episode (Read our Recap) on Wednesday (Sept. 22). Some fans knew immediately that the high energy entertainer was Todrick Hall.
Bull performed a rousing version of Train’s “Drops of Jupiter.” He took the stage over, serenaded the judges and showed off some super-fly dance moves. In his package, Bull mentioned that he grew up on a farm in a small town before leaving to find his “destiny.” He “travelled the world” and eventually Hollywood and even “Forbes” took notice. He also mentioned that after having doors slammed in his face, be became his own boss.
Todrick Hall grew up on a farm in Texas. He did move to Hollywood, first competing as a Top 24 contestant on American Idol season 9 in 2010. He started his own Youtube channel, which now has millions and millions of subscribers. In a 2019 Facebook post saying goodbye to the aughts, Todrick lays out his accomplishments. He literally says that he “travelled the world.” And that he was a “30 under 30” for Forbes Magazine. Todrick has also choreographed and judged on the VH1 reality competition, RuPaul’s Drag Race. He’s also BFFs with mega pop superstar, Taylor Swift.
I think it’s safe to say that Bull is Todrick Hall. Judge Robin Thicke believes the contestant is a lock for the finals, and I do too.
For sure, keep an eye on this Facebook post for items that will show up in clues. Todrick performed on Broadway, including starring in Kinky Boots. After filming a homage to Beyonce for Youtube, he eventually choreographed for her. Todrick had a famous falling out with his manager, Scooter Braun, taking Taylor Swift’s side in a tiff over her master recordings. There are a ton of juicy clues to come, I’m sure.
After Bull’s performance, Nicole Scherzinger hinted that she knew Bull’s identity, but wasn’t ready to spill it. Todrick and Nicole know each other, reportedly.
