I’m not gonna lie–I tend to zone out during the mentoring sessions. The Battles are my least favorite of the rounds. Although the episodes feature some incredible duets, there just is not enough singing in the round! Six performances in 2 hours–eight maybe if quickie clips are included. There is too much canned gabbety gab in between.
I don’t think celebrity mentors add much to the show. Having said that, my favorite was probably Khalid, who brought a producer’s ear to the proceedings. (Charlie Puth did as well. But am I the only one who finds him annoying af?)
