The Voice season 22 Top 8 sang for America’s vote Monday night (Dec 5). Who will move on to next week’s finale and who will go home? Vote in our The Voice 2022 Polls Semi-Final Top 8. (Read our Recap) The Voice season 22 finale airs on December 12 and 13.
The pressure was on for The Top 8 contestants. Who did enough to advance to next week’s finale? The best performances of the night were Kim Cruse’s “Summertime” and Morgan Myles “Always Remember Us This Way.” The former may get to the finale, the latter definitely will.
The rest of the contestants delivered good, but not season defining, performances. But at this point in the competition, fans have chosen their favorites. Bodie’s “Without Me” was not a step up from previous outings. He was even pitchy in spots! But he’s a solid favorite right now. Maybe producers put the crowd up to it, but they were chanting his name.
Brayden Lape tried to take coach Blake Shelton’s notes–to push his voice beyond his laid back style–but he didn’t quite accomplish that. Regardless, fans seem to love him. He has a good shot at the final.
Parijita Bastola is a talented singer, but she has had no growth arc like Justin Aaron. The latter has a better chance to advance than she does. Justin took singers on a journey this season. Peaking too early like Parijita did can stop a singer from advancing.
Omar Jose Cardona did his usual super-theatrical big voiced thing on a Celine Dion classic, but he didn’t bring any surprises. However, he’s another season favorite who will probably wind up in the finale. Bryce Leatherwood? He has tried to connect with the audience the past two weeks. His country bonafides may carry him through to the end.
A Top 8 will become a Top 5
The Voice season 22 Semi-Final results show airs on December 6 at 8 pm. Host Carson Daly will declare 4 singers safe. The remaining four singers will compete in the Instant Save. The winner will round out the Top 5 finalists.
