The Voice 21 Top 10 Poll Results & Predictions – Who Will Be Eliminated?
The Voice 21 Recap: Top 10 Sing “Outside of Their Genre” (Videos)

Who from Team Blake Shelton, Team Kelly Clarkson, Team John Legend and Team Ariana Grande will make the cut? After last night’s viewer vote, the Top 7 vote getters will advance. Next, the bottom 3 vote getters will compete for the Instant Save. After the vote, the winner will join the Top 7, with 8 contestants moving on to next week’s episode.

Gwen Stefani is here with her team member Season 19 winner Carter Rubin. He will perform his new single “horoscope.”

The Top 10 take the stage for the first round of results. First Dumb Question goes to Paris Winningham, who mentions his vocal coach back home. He expresses gratitude for fans who keep voting him through. He declares that he’s in one of the best times of his life. Josh from Girl Named Tom talks about how their confidence in each other has grown even more. But their parents raised them from the beginning to trust and love each other. America saved…from Team Blake…Paris Winningham! America also saved…from Team Ariana…Jim & Sasha Allen. TOLDJA.

Gwen Stefani makes her first visit to The Voice since she and Blake Shelton married. She’s so proud of her team member Carter Rubin. She’s rooting for him. She introduces him before he takes the stage to sing his single, released on Republic Records, “horoscope.” HE’S ALL GROWED UP!

Next, is a time wasting video featuring the coaches. It’s pretty much an outtake type thing.

More results. The remaining artists enter the stage. Dumb Question for Wendy. She calls Dolly Parton, whose song she covered, an icon. America saved…from Team Kelly…Girl Named Tom!

Annie Live airs on Thursday. I am actually looking forward to that. Blake makes a joke about auditioning for Annie. And I think he said sh*t. Hard to know. It was bleeped. “Who the hell is Harry Connick Jr.” OK then.

The remaining 7 artists take the stage! Lana Scott thanks Blake for his kind words last night. Also, after learning the Katy Perry song she performed last night in only two days, she has learned  to work under pressure. America saved…from Team Blake…Wendy Moten! America also saved…from Team Legend…Joshua Vacanti!

Now, UK artist Mae Muller takes the stage to perform “Better Days.” She’s not a great live singer. Eep. The song features Neiked and Polo G. Oh. It was a huge hit on Tik Tok first. What a surprise. Not.

The five remaining artists take the stage. Jershika Maple thanks her coach for allowing her to sing the song. So apparently covering Paramore last night was Jershika’s idea? Hailey wants to continue to sing and have fun. Kelly has inspired her to be a role model for other 14 year olds like herself. America saved…Team Blake’s Lana Scott! America also saved…Hailey Mia from Team Kelly.

Jeremy Rosado, Jershika Maple and Holly Forbes will sing for the Instant Save.

Instant Save Performances

Jeremy Rosado – What Hurts’ The Most by Rascal Flatts – Kelly hurt Jeremy last night suggesting strongly that he sing an uptempo song. He’s back in his comfort zone with Rascal Flatts. But he seems desperate. The performance is off key and frantic.

Blake loves that he sang another country song. Everybody at this point is talented, he says, and. “It is what it is.” He’s correct. He suggests Kelly help him. Kelly calls his save song “brilliant.” She says, “I have all the faith in America to vote Jeremy through.” Jeremy covered Rascal Flatts before. He sang “Here Comes Goodbye” for his Blind Audition.

Holly Forbes – Because of You by Kelly Clarkson  – Singing a tune by her former coach. Is that a dig? Ha ha. She turns in an emotional performance, clearing the modulation beautifully. I hope either Holly or Jershika make it through tonight. Her song choice, tackling Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” was bold, but in hindsight, it hurt her. Plus performing first did her no favors. And, reportedly, she’s sick. Not her week.

Blake talks again. “Great song choice.” He is extra surprised to see her in the bottom. He thought she’d make the Top 5. Ariana says Holly in the bottom makes no sense. She calls her powerful and perfect. She begs America to save her. No tears, though. She really does prefer J&S.

Jershika Maple – What is Love by The Empire Cast and V. Bozeman- OK. Jershika just freaking killed it up there. She is truly singing for her life.

Her coach John Legend is shrieking. “I am so stunned you are in this position. You’ve been so amazing.” He calls the performance her best so far. “technically perfect…meaningful.” He begs America to vote for her.

Back from break. Jeremy tells Kelly that she changed his life. He thanks The Voice vocal coach. He shouts out to his daughter at home. Holly is crying, and now so is Ariana. “You gave me another chance in the knockouts, you changed my life.” Jershika tears up. “Thank you. This show really saved me. Tonight I fought. When you fight it’s in God’s hands.”

All the bottom three were on Team Kelly at one time or another. She’s sure all three will have great careers. Ariana cries as she calls Holly brilliant. She promises to help her along the way. John can’t believe Jershika was working as a security guard, mere months ago. “You are so gifted…you’ve got pipes, you’ve got soul, you’ve got power.”

America instantly saved…Jershika Maple from Team Legend!

While I correctly predicted the bottom 3, I whiffed the actual elimination. I was sure the Arianators would come through for Holly. But the thing is–Ariana clearly put all of her weight behind Jim & Sasha. It’s who she favors.

And dang Holly. The Voice featured her prominently in pre-show promos. She nailed Elton John’s Rocket Man and seemed destined to sail into the finals. But then her Battle was montaged. And then Kelly gave her up in the Knockouts. Ariana stole her, but didn’t seem to care about her much. And now here we are. Holly’s elimination at Top 8 is not about her dropping the ball. It’s about fierce competition from talented singers, and her two coaches not actually supporting her in the competition.

And here is the thing: As the only members remaining on Team Ariana, Jim and Sasha WILL MAKE THE FINAL. Not only will Ariana do everything she can to make that happen, but so will The Voice producers. No way their shiny freshman coach goes into the finale without a team member.
