The Voice 24 Battles: Jackson Snelling vs Jordan Rainer Team Reba

The Voice Battle Rounds 7 - Jackson Snelling and Jordan Rainer

The Voice 24 Battles: Jackson Snelling and Jordan Rainer fight for a spot on Team Reba with her song “The Heart Won’t Lie”

The Voice 24 begins Battle Rounds on Tuesday (Oct 17). In a new preview from NBC Jackson Snelling and Jordan Rainer from Team Reba McEntire face off with one of the country icon’s songs, “The Heart Won’t Lie.” No pressure!

Jordan, who put aside her dark shades this time, garnered a four chair turn when she sang Reba’s “Fancy” for her Blind Audition. Jackson, a former American Idol contestant, turned two chairs–from Reba and Gwen Stefani–when he sang “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” by Justin Moore.

Considering that Jordan auditioned with a Reba song, this battle seems built to favor her. Worth noting, Reba recorded the song as a duet with Vince Gill.

Gwen and Niall would choose, Jordan, while John would pick Jackson

The duet gave Niall Horan goosebumps. He compliments Jackson’s tone, calling it “unique” adding, pointing to his heart, “You really sing from in here.” Niall tells Jordan that it was nice to hear her sing “a good old-fashioned country song.” He would pick Jordan, just because he wants to see what happens on her journey.

Gwen Stefani notes Jackson’s youth and describes his voice as “warm and strong and perfectly tasteful.” The coach enjoyed hearing the “airy” part of Jordan’s voice, adding “yet you still have so much power.” Gwen wants to see a “little bit more” of Jordan because she wants to see what else the singer has. Jordan quips, “If you ask my ex-husband, there are many sides of me!” John Legend says, “I can’t take it!” Jordan shoots back, “He couldn’t either!”

“That was so great!” John says, “Both of you, it was really wonderful.” He calls Jackson “inviting and welcoming” and he feels Jordan “showed us a different side of her.” But going on the moment, John would choose Jackson.

Reba calls both artists “coachable” adding “I can tell a drastic difference from when we were in there rehearsing to now.” She feels Jackson did a good job, calling him “cute as a button” and “friendly and open.” Reba had suggested Jordan take the glasses off so “we could see your eyes.” She says, “Your vocals were wonderful.” She compliments the duo’s harmonies as “spectacular” and adds, “I’m very proud of y’all.”

Who will Reba choose to bring to the Playoffs? And will the loser be stolen? Tune in to NBC tonight (Oct 17) at 9 pm ET/PT to find out! At 8 pm the network will air a recap of Monday night’s final Blind Auditions.
