The Voice 24 drops new promo featuring Reba McEntire making a sparkling and scary entrance
In a new promo for The Voice season 24 that dropped on Friday (September 8), Reba McEntire makes sure her fellow coaches know that a new country queen has arrived.
The video opens with season 23 winner Niall Horan, cutting into a cake that reads “welcome The Voice coaches” as Gwen Stefani and John Legend enter the room.
“Congratulations on winning your first season my friend,” John says, as Niall responds: “Thank you. It’s good to be king.” The former One Direction member and X Factor UK alum won the season with teen singer Gina Miles.
Gwen reminds him, “Don’t get used to it buddy. It’s a whole new ball game.” John adds that he knows “we all miss the cowboy,” aka Blake Shelton aka Gwen’s husband, who left the show in May after sitting in the big red chair for all 23 seasons of the show.
“But now that he’s gone, we might have a shot at the best country singers,” John remarks.
“Nothing can ruin this” except Reba!
“Nothing can ruin this,” declares Niall. Except, not. A stage door opens and there’s a huge “Team Reba” sign with sparklers in the background. After Reba’s black robe transforms into a sparkly outfit, she says”Hey there,” adding, “It’s just so good to be here.”
Host Carson Daly then appears, to say gleefully as he digs into a piece of cake, “Wow, this is gonna be good.”
The clip ends with Niall on the phone saying, “I’m gonna need some tearaway pants. And make them sparkly.”
Recently, NBC dropped the key art for the new season. The new black and gold theme features the tag line “A Wild New Ride.” Wild indeed, as the show enters a new era without it’s veteran coach, Blake Shelton.

The Voice season 24 and and 25 filming is underway
Additionally, in an unusual move, the network has cast and taped two cycles nearly simultaneously. Already the season 25 coaches, Chance the Rapper, John Legend, Reba McEntire and first ever double-chair Dan + Shay are taping the spring cycle. By mid-October, both seasons will be fully taped through the Playoffs (Yes, once again, the Playoffs will not be live).
