The Voice 25 Battles: Bryan Olesen and Nathan Chester fight for a spot on Team John Legend with Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’

The Voice Battles 25 kick off on Monday as 40 artists vie for a spot in the Knockout rounds.

In a new preview from NBC, Team John Legend artists Bryan Olesen and Nathan Chester face off singing Adele’s classic hit “Rolling in the Deep.” Bryan is a Christian artist, already famous as a member of the Newsboys. Nathan is an impressive soul singer who cut his teeth performing on cruise ships.

The two perform dynamically, ending the song with soaring harmonies that impress John’s fellow coaches, Chance the Rapper, Reba McEntire and double chair Dan + Shay.

Reba said after the performance, “That was absolutely incredible. That harmony. Oh my gosh! Powerful. Your choreography was flawless.” She loved Bryan’s style. “It’s a little quirky, that’s what I loved about it.” She called Nathan a “powerhouse.” and refused to choose a winner.

“You guys are both really powerful vocalists,” said Chance. He described Nathan’s vocal as having a “strong personality” with great control. adding that Bryan “showed a lot more dynamics…a lot more range” compared to his Blind Audition. He also won’t choose a winner.

Dan said, “I’m so blown away. It was so locked in, so in sync. The vibratos were happening at the same time. You were up there absolutely killing it.” Shay compared the way Nathan started the song on his knee to the movie Braveheart. The duo ALSO would not pick a winner.

“You’re so helpful…all of you!”

“You’re so helpful!” said John sarcastically. “All of you!”

John added, “I loved the physical interaction you had with each other. You also really committed to giving the song a refresh.” He added, “This version sounded like no other version. You were both A+++.”

Who will John choose as the winner of the Battle? Tune in Monday night (March 18) to find out! The Voice airs on NBC Mondays at 8 pm and Tuesdays at 9 pm ET/PT. The show streams next day on Peacock.
