The Voice 25 Blind Audition: Bryan Olesen shocks the panel with his powerful vocal
The chair turns come pretty quickly after The Voice 25 hopeful, Bryan Olesen, launches into a powerful cover of OneRepublic’s “Love Runs Out.” The clip is a preview from Monday’s (March 4) episode of the Blind Auditions.
John Legend, Dan + Shay and Reba McEntire fight to lure the singer onto their respective teams. Only Chance the Rapper refrained from hitting his button for the 49 year old singer from Lincoln, Nebraska. Chance thought Bryan delivered an awesome vocal performance, and confessed to second thoughts after he turned around and saw the mic stand on the ground.
“I felt that was a performance without seeing anything,” said Reba. “When I did turn around, the package was complete.” She added, “I love the song, I love your style…everything was great.”
John declared the audition the best the coaches had seen. Dan + Shay agreed. John explained that he’s gotten good at helping artists “figure out what their passion is” in addition to “the kinds of songs that would best help them express themselves.” John added, “You truly look like a superstar,” comparing Bryan to U2 lead singer, Bono.

“You voice is next level,” gushed Shay. “You should be sitting here.” Dan added, “The performance was incredible. The beginning was so tender and chill, and then it kicked in to full on rock star mode.” He reminded Bryan that the duo hit their button immediately. However, John insisted that he was first. Dan disagreed, saying that they turned simultaneously. Instant replay appeared to be needed in the moment.
Bryan’s daughter is also a singer and joined him on stage for a duet
After Bryan performed, he invited his daughter onstage. After he mentioned that she also sang, Dan + Shay suggested they perform something together. The two sing “Little Bird” like they rehearsed it JUST FOR THE SHOW (Heh). If this were American Idol, the judges would slap a ticket on her, and invite her to Hollywood. But The Voice is too structured for that.
Who will Bryan choose? This season, for the first time, there are no pop singers on the panel! Bryan will choose between two country acts and an R&B singer. Maybe it won’t matter in the end. Either John or Dan + Shay could do a good job producing his performances. To find out which team Bryan chooses, tune into The Voice on NBC Monday night (March 4) at 8 pm ET/PT.
