Team Legend – Bryan Olesen – “Don’t Stop Me Now”

This song in parts fits his voice and in parts does not. He puts on a fun performance but not sure this is a lives worthy performance. He’s working the stage but it feels like the song got away from him at times.

Reba says it was a way to open the song and Bryan has a good time every time he steps on stage. Chance says it was a lot of energy and felt like the intro to an award show. John says he’s wondering how Bryan isn’t already selling out arenas and he pities everybody that has to go after him.

Team Dan and Shay – Tae Lewis – “19 You And Me”

Tae nails anything he sings. He put his fun personality onto this song. That one falsetto note he hit was killer.

Reba says she’s thrilled to see him and he deserves to be in the competition. Dan and Shay say he crushed it and tells him to soak this moment in.

Team Chance – Maddi Jane – “Happier Than Ever”

Maddi sings like she should be on Broadway. So pretty and full. The way it goes from pretty to rock really shows her range. And I love her outfit!!

John says she’s been a star since the beginning and she made the vocal her own. Chance says he’s proud and blown away and he enjoyed all the movement she did while keeping the pitch.

Team Reba – L. Rodgers – “Up To The Mountain”

L. is such a force to be reckoned with. Her voice is so big and fills the entire studio. She added these soft notes that were so endearing amidst her big ones.

Dan and Shay she looks and sounds beautiful and she feels every word she sings. Reba says she nailed it and when she starts singing, she can feel it because L. feels it first.

Team Dan and Shay – Madison Curbelo – “Yesterday”

Almost seems like a different sound for Madison, but she’s killing it nonetheless. So pretty and natural.

John says she’s always been one of his favorites and this performance was beautiful and tasteful. Dan and Shay say they were emotional during this performance and they’re proud of her.

Team Reba – Asher HaVon – “I’ll Make Love To You”

Asher’s performing without a wig for the first time on the show and is absolutely killing this song. Gorgeous. He’s another one with a big voice and he knows how to use it.

Chance says Asher knows what he did and he’ll be glad if he wins despite not being on Team Chance. Reba says God put him on this earth to sing.

Team Legend – Zoe Levert – “Stick Season”

This song is perfect for Zoe. She’s very early Taylor Swift. She kept it pretty simple vocally and it worked for her.

Dan and Shay say it’s amazing and her tone is endearing. John says Zoe is blossoming and she sounds like a real recording artist when she sings.

Team Dan and Shay – Karen Waldrup – “I Hope You Dance”

This is so classic country; her voice, the song, her outfit, the guitar. This is probably her best performance so far.

Reba says she’s happy for her and she did a wonderful job. Dan and Shay say younger Karen would’ve sang this song to now Karen and she should be proud of herself.

Team Chance – Serenity Arce – “Traitor”

Serenity has such a pretty voice, although it sounds a little like she’s imitating Olivia Rodrigo. She definitely performs like the next female popstar though.

Dan and Shay say it was a powerful performance and all her performances have conviction in delivery. Chance says he’s proud and she makes the stage her own every time.

Team Chance – Nadege – “He Loves Me”

Nadege performs while holding a flower along with the mic. You can tell she really feels these lyrics.

John says it was a perfect song for her and compliments her energy. Chance says this song was right up her alley and America should vote for her.

Team Reba – Josh Sanders – “Angels”

A country ballad is so fitting for Josh’s voice. Josh always puts so much emotion in his performances, and those high notes!!

Dan and Shay say it was unbelievable and he’s been only him and that’s enough. Reba says the performance touched her heart and it came from his.

Team Legend – Nathan Chester – “Higher And Higher”

Such a perfect song for Nathan’s voice and style. And he’s got moves! I personally didn’t feel any desire to vote until this performance. And finishing with a split!? What a fun way to end the first live show.

John says he can’t talk because the crowd is cheering too loud, then says Nathan knew who he wanted to be when he came to the show and he gives everything every time he performs.
