The Voice 25 two-part Playoff round concludes on Monday (April 29) with Team Chance the Rapper and Team Reba McEntire performing for a spot in the live shows. In a new preview, 16-year-old Serenity Arce from Team Chance performs Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.”

Serenity delivers an emotive rendition of the song. Her lilting tone takes on an urgency in the second verse, amping up the drama. She builds to soaring notes in the chorus. The camera cuts to Chance fist pumping in the dark as she sings.
The coaches give Serenity a standing ovation. Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay responded, “I don’t know who hurt you, but my goodness.” He said, “Dan and I will volunteer to go on to find whoever it was.” Shay continued, “You have a very unique gift to tell a story and to put yourself in that song.” He can’t believe that she’s only 16. Dan Smyers said, “You sing and perform with so much conviction, and that takes a lifetime for some people to pick up,” He concluded, “You got a good one on your hands, Chance.”
“We see the hurt in your eyes, we see the angst in your eyes,” said John Legend. “And that’s what you have to do in this moment.” He added, “It’s important that you make an emphatic statement on your own behalf and that was right on time.”
“You had a little book that said ‘How to Make it to The Finals’ you checked off every box,” said Reba, “Enunciation, poise…that attitude.” She continued, When you gave us that look you were serious. And you definitely need to go on to the Lives.”
“You very much deserve to be in the Lives”
Chance said, “It’s so tough. You come in and kill it every week, and there were some big moments in the song that you went for and created yourself–your emotion, your intentionality on lyrics. People notice and people feel. It’s going to be a tough decision to make at the end, but you very much so deserve to be in the Lives.”
Find out if Chance chooses Serenity as one of three team members advancing to the next round when The Voice 25 Playoffs Part 2 airs on NBC April 29 at 8 pm ET/PT. Reba will also round out her Lives team by choosing three artists.
Last week, Team Legend and Team Dan + Shay chose their teams. In the end, a total of 12 singers will move on to the three week Live rounds.
