The Voice 25 Top 9 POLLS: VOTE for your favorite performances, predict who will leave the competition

The Voice 25 LIVE shows continued on to the semi-finals on Monday (May 13). Nine artists performed songs dedicated to their hometowns, additionally, trio performances were tied (AWKWARDLY) into promotion of a new Universal live animation film, IF.

And I say awkward, because each of the trios were “inspired” by “imagination” which is apparently the theme of If. Director and star John Krasinski appeared in videos meant to “inspire” the artists, but were really promotions for the film. And I should just stop complaining about the rampant “synergy” that plague these big corporate studio owners. The cross promotion will never end!

But the weirdest performance of the night involved Asher Havon, Serenity Arce and Madison Curbelo singing “Fix You” as a trio while a dancer performed an emotional contemporary piece with…a giant blue bear. Was I the only person completely distracted while thinking “WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING ON!!!” (Read our recap and watch the performances)

A quick rundown

Anyway! Josh Sanders is a radio ready country singer who is reminiscent of American Idol’s Will Moseley. He’s got the grit and the rasp, but sings with an urgency Will lacks. Maddi Jane had some issues while singing a song out of her range. But it can’t be easy to dance and sing at the same time. Credit to her for never holding back and taking a few risks.

Asher Havan is an intriguing and talented contestant. Wouldn’t be mad if he made the final. Serenity Arce delivered a lovely rendition of a pop hit. Ditto Madison Curbelo who sang a vintage pop hit. Karen Waldrup is a pro singer who knows how to deliver a wow performance.

Nathan Chester is literally a cruise ship singer. Who could have guessed that? (He’s corny). Speaking of corny–Bryan Olesen has a solid rock voice, but his song choices are predictable. Also NOT CRAZY about Tae Lewis’ sappy song choice, but country fans will probably love it.

Now it’s time to VOTE VOTE VOTE! Watch for a results and prediction post later on today.
