The Voice 26 Battles: Gail Bliss and Christina Eagles sing Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman” for a spot on Team Snoop Dogg
The Battles begin on The Voice 26 Monday night (Oct 21). Here is a preview of Gail Bliss and Christina Eagles performing Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman” for Team Snoop Dogg.
At the end of the performance, Snoop will choose the winner who will advance to The Knockouts on his team. The loser can be stolen by another team member, otherwise, they leave the competition.
After a rousing performance that got the place jumping, Reba McEntire gushed, “What a way to bring the party to town!” She called Christina a force of nature and noted the two were “almost like sisters” on stage. “Good luck there, Snoop,” Reba said, not taking a side.
Gwen Stefani can’t believe that a record label didn’t sign Christina to a deal already. adding “You’re insanely good.” She continued, “You can’t teach somebody personality, charisma, stage presence. That’s just you being you…super sassy, super cool.”
“You have it all as well,” Gwen said about Gail. “You are incredibly confident. You just seem very seasoned.” However, Gwen would pick Christina, saying she couldn’t keep her eyes off the singer.
“I was watching Snoop enjoying every minute of that,” said Michael Buble. He felt Snoop “chose a song that allowed both of them to just completely blow this place away.” Christina’s ability to work the stage while keeping control of her vocals impressed Michael. He compared Gail’s stage movements to Elvis Presley. “I was just digging every single second of it,” said Michael. Like Reba, Michael can’t choose between the two singers.
“The decision I’m gonna have to make is going to break my heart”
Snoop becomes emotional as he addressed his team members. “Let me look at y’all in the eyes and tell you I truly love what y’all bring to the table,” he added, describing why the performance had him on his feet, “It doesn’t take a lot to make me move, but it takes a lot to make me get the gangsta holy ghost.”
“The energy that y’all brought, the sisterhood…be there to make everything feel like it’s one than I’m competing against you. I love y’all for that.” He said, “The decision I’m gonna have to make is going to break my heart.”
Snoop explained that his decision is based on which artist will have the most potential to grow on the show. But fans will have to wait until The Voice Battles Premiere airs on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT to find out. The episode streams on Peacock next day.
