The Voice 26 Blind Audition: Country singer Katie O’s Leann Rimes cover garners a 4-chair turn

Watch The Voice 26 artist Katie O perform LeAnn Rimes’ “One Way Ticket (Because I Can)” during her Blind Audition airing on episode six which airs on NBC Tuesday October 15. It’s the last of the Blinds before Battles begin next week.

The country singer gets coach Gwen Stefani to turn first, followed by Snoop Dogg. Michael Buble is next, followed by country queen Reba McEntire. It’s near the end of the round, and the coaches teams are filling up.

Gwen was very upset when Reba hit her button, but she perked up after Katie nailed a key change. The singer explained that she’s 18 years old and from Jacksonville, Florida. Reba mentioned that she loves the song and is “tickled to pieces” for Katie to be on The Voice. She added, “You’ve got a lot of heart and soul in your singing and you were so cute when I turned around. I loved that!”

After acknowledging that Reba is the “queen of country,” Gwen stressed that she hit her button as fast as she could as soon as she heard Katie’s voice. “I really like to work with with young girls,” said Gwen before complimenting the singer on how secure her voice was as she moved around the stage.

Why is Reba here!

Snoop offered, “I was thoroughly impressed how your stage presence and and how your voice was steady.” Snoop added that no matter what happened on stage “your voice stayed in character.” Noting her professionalism, he said, “You don’t have nothing that can be worked on!”

“Why is Reba here!” Gwen groaned. But she’s got more than Michael, who made up stuff about his family being from Florida (they’re from Canada). Putting the jokes aside, Michael said, “I love country, you have a fabulous voice, and I would love to be part of this with you.”

Which team will Katie choose? Watch the final episode of The Voice 26 Blind Auditions on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT, Tuesday (October 15).
