The Voice 26 Top 8 Predictions and Poll Results – Who Will be Eliminated?
The Voice 26 Recap: Live Semi-Final Performances
Who from Team Michael Buble, Team Gwen Stefani, Team Snoop Dogg and Team Reba McEntire will make the cut? After last night’s viewer vote, 4 artists will be declared safe. Next, the bottom 4 singers will perform for America’s vote in the Instant Save. The winner will round out the Top 5 advancing to next week’s Finale.
Reba McEntire performs her big hit “Consider Me Gone”
First, Reba McEntire performs her longest running number one song, “Consider Me Gone.” When the song finishes, the crowd chants “REBA REBA REBA.” The tune is from Reba’s album Keep on Loving You, celebrating it 15th anniversary. The set comes out on vinyl this week.
Carson Daly gets down to business right away. The Top 8 take the stage. And of course, he’ll be asking the artists all the dumb questions. What did Snoop teach Christina Eagle? “All I have to do is be me,” she answers. What is Shye’s message to her family? They are her inspiration and the reason why she is where she is. The first artist SAVED, read in no particular order…the first finalist is….from Team Buble…Sofronio Vasquez. A no brainer!
Gwen Stefani performs her newest single “Somebody Else’s”
Now, Gwen Stefani performs her new single, “Somebody Else’s.” It’s a pop ditty, probably about her husband, former The Voice coach, Blake Shelton. Hm. Unlike Reba’s performance which was obviously live, this Gwen performance appears to have been taped earlier.
Next is a time wasting video featuring the coaches discussing Snoop Dogg’s “fun” quirks.
MORE RESULTS. The Top 7 take the stage. Jeremy gets the first question. What has he learned about himself? Snoop Dogg gave him the confidence to trust himself. Danny thanks his parents for supporting him all the way. The next artist advancing to the finale is…from Team Gwen, Sydney Sterlace! The third finalist is…from Team Snoop…Jeremy Beloate!
October London performs
Now, October London takes the stage to perform. He’s signed to Snoop Dogg’s record label, Death Row records.
The remaining five artists take the stage. Adam Bohanan calls being coached by Reba McEntire a “true blessing.” Jan Dan would tell his baby daughter to always believe in herself. One more will be saved by America’s vote. The fourth finalist is…Shye from Team Buble! Michael is two for two.
Now, the remaining four singers will perform for the Instant Save
Christina Eagle – Team Snoop – Heart Like A Truck by Lainey Wilson
Oh well. Christina, who is the weakest singer in the Top 8, performs a boring song first. She made it pretty far, now it’s time to leave the competition. Snoop BEGS America to vote for the remaining country singer in the Top 8: “When Carson gives you the cue, you’re going to have five minutes to do what you do.”
Adam Bohanan – Team Reba – Pretty Wings by Maxwell
Adam goes straight R&B for his save-me song, and sings it beautifully. The performance is peppered with artfully delivered adlibs and long big notes. Still, It’s probably not enough to get him over the line. Reba says, “You never cease to amaze me.” She begs America to vote for him. But she’s got one more artist fighting for a spot!
Jan Dan – Team Gwen – Gravity by John Mayer
The singer moves away from rock classics to tackle a pop blues classic from recent history “Gravity.” As he usually does, Jan lends his unique phrasing and creative adlibs to the rendition. Carson believes former coach Jennifer Hudson would have thrown her shoe. Gwen calls the performance incredible and mind blowing before asking America to vote.
Danny Joseph – Team Reba – House of the Rising Son
If Danny doesn’t win the save, Reba will have no singers in the final. Hm. Danny isn’t playing guitar, which is a mistake. This song is usually a crowd pleaser on singing shows, but this is not his best performance. Probably Jan Dan deserves the spot based on tonight’s performance. But I’m still rooting for Danny based on his body of work. Reba says, “I am never nervous when you walk out on that stage.” Once again, she asks America to vote.
TIME TO VOTE. America, you have FIVE MINUTES to vote for one artist. Use The Voice official app or NBC.com
Results!
Who will take the last spot in next week’s finale? The artists deliver last words to their coaches. Christina shares her struggles with anxiety, calling Snoop a “godsend.” He promises to work with the singer after the show. Adam thanks Reba for believing in him and helping him the whole way through. Reba declares Adam possesses the biggest heart. Jan says, “Gwen I love you, I have broken out of my shell.” He appreciates that she accepted his unconventional ways. Gwen says, “You keep surprising me….you really are a true artist.” Danny reminds the audience that he recently had his colon removed due to Crohn’s disease and he can’t believe he’s on stage. He thanks Reba for giving him confidence. Reba says that God got him in shape so he could take the stage.
America instantly saved…Danny Joseph!!!! HOORAY!!!! All four coaches will be represented on next week’s finale.
Good job, poll voters who correctly guessed the three singers who would leave the competition tonight.
