The Voice 27 Recap: The Knockouts 3 Live Blog Results (Videos)

It’s time for another round of Knockouts on Season 27 of The Voice!

With new performances from members of Team John Legend, Team Kelsea Ballerini, Team Michael Buble and Team Adam Levine, contestants from the same team will go head-to-head with songs of their choosing, and afterward, their coach will choose a winner.

Nell Simmons vs Renzo – Team Legend

Nell sings “Sweet Thing” by Chaka Khan and makes it a definite sweet thing that the crowd just loves. She adds a beautiful high note at the end that gets all four judges on their feet.

Renzo performs “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish and gives a standout performance with his own high notes that can definitely compete.

Adam says that Nell did a wonderful job singing Chaka Khan. He says that Renzo has a unicorn energy and he will be shocked if he doesn’t make it to the end. Kelsea commented that Nell sounded sexy and strong. She says that Renzo will have a career to the moon and back. Michael compares Nell to Mariah Carey and calls her performance spectacular. He says that Renzo was in such control and loved his performance. John calls Nell’s singing perfection. John tells Renzo that his performance showed his versatility.

John chooses Renzo.

Adam David vs. Carlos Santiago – Team Bublé

Adam David picked “Unaware” by Allen Stone and nails it with his strong voice.

Carlos Santiago sings “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott and sings some of it in Spanish! His voice is smooth and gives a perfect rendition.

John says that he was very impressed with his emotional performance. John notes Adam’s growl in his falsetto, which got him marveling at it. Adam calls Adam’s voice great and calls what he has a crazy scream falsetto. Adam remarked that Carlos song was greatness. Kelsea compares Adam to Galvin Degraw and remarks that Carlos sounded like he was singing to one person. Michael says that Carlos was unbelievable and that Adam has a great richness to his voice.

Michael chooses Adam.

Hailey Wright vs. Jaelen Johnston – Team Kelsea

Hailey Wright sings “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” by Patsy Montana. She picked it because of her yodeling skills. She does not disappoint, giving an amazing performance. Her yodeling is perfect, and she gets everyone clapping.

Jaelen Johnston sings “Dial Drunk” by Noah Kahan with his strong country voice that brings a smile to everyone’s face.

Michael says that Hailey’s voice is very stylized. He calls Jaelen’s voice distinct but believes that Hailey won the round. John comments that yodeling is not easy and impressed him. John tells Jaelen he has lots of charisma and sounds great. Adam says he wants to see more of Hailey and that Jaelen was great, but he also believes that Hailey wins the round. Kelsea loves the fact that Jaelen moved more and that Hailey didn’t sound nervous.

Kelsea chooses Jaelen.

Jacquelyn George vs. Olivia Kuper Harris – Team Legend

Jacquelyn George sings “Too Little Too Late” by JoJo with incredible high notes.

Olivia Kuper Harris sings “Last Dance” by Donna Summer and puts her own spin on it with such soul. All while playing the keyboard. Her take gets John on his feet, obviously taking away all the worry he had with her song choice.

Adam thinks that Jacquelyn’s high note at the end was wild. Olivia blew away Adam’s expectations. kelsea loved Jacquelyn’s song choice. She called Olivia’s song strong and sexy and gave it a big-time wow. Michael calls Jacquelyn a Disney princess with such sweetness and youth in her voice. Michaels compares Olivia to Celine Dion and feels both of them killed it. John says that Jacquelyn sang her notes with clarity and beauty. John says that Olivia gave a confident performance and was beautiful throughout.

John chooses Olivia.

Jayden Cree vs. Kameron Jaso – Team Bublé

Jayden Cree sings “Keep Holding On” by Avril Lavigne and gives a wonderful performance while hitting all the different notes.  

Kameron Jaso sings “Say You Won’t Go” by James Arthur with a beautiful tone throughout.

John tells Kameron that it was his favorite performance. He also loved Jayden’s tone. Adam agrees with John that it was Kameron’s best so far. Adam calls Jayden different from the rest of the competition. Adam would pick Jayden. Kelsea says that Kameron has the same quality as James Arthur in his voice. Michael was deeply impressed with Kameron and told Jayden that she had a special voice.

Michael chooses Jayden.

Conor James vs. Darius Jay – Team Adam

Conor rocks “Forever Young” by Alphaville and makes it his own with an amazing rendition.

Darius Jay sings “American Boy” by Estelle and gives out pure energy and character.

Kelsea says both did a fantastic job. Michael loves Conor’s voice but not so much his song choice. He tells Darius that was great. John loved Darius’ fresh take on the song. John tells Conor that he should be on the finale but Darius was more compelling today.

Adam chooses Conor.

Kelsea steals Darius!
