The second night of The Voice 9 Blind Auditions didn’t offer up any outstanding talent. At least nobody that I could imagine taking home the crown. Maybe I’ll need another performance or two from this bunch before I’m impressed. There was a whole lot of been there and done that with this group. If you want more on each performer, plus performance videos, click to read our recap of tonight’s show.
Having said that–my favorites of this bunch are the versatile Evan McKeel from Team Pharrell. He has the potential to be an interesting find, if he’s as genre-bending a performer as he appears to be. Ellie Lawrence is a passionate artist with a unique sound. Her coach, Gwen, is also one of her favorite artists. They could wind up having a fruitful partnership. We’ll see!
I’m super glad the fake battle between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton for country artists is over. Maybe I’m just too cynical, but two episodes of Adam whining about country artists always choosing Blake, and his insistence that he just HAD TO HAVE A COUNTRY ARTIST ON HIS TEAM OR HE’D DIE smelled like it came from the notes of a production meeting.
First of all. Amber Carrington HELLO. Adam has had country artists on his team in the past. So why was it suddenly such a big deal? Oh right. Contrived story arc created to stoke the Shevine frenemy bromance for-the-cameras reality thingy. Bleah. Watch Adam sacrifice the country artist he finally nabbed, James Dupre, in one of the upcoming battles….
