Meghan Linsey came to The Voice 8 looking for a new start. She’d been part of the duo, Steel Magnolia, signed to a major label after winning CMT’s Can You Duet. But the romantic relationship with her partner broke apart spectacularly, and the singer was left to pick up the pieces.

Now, Meghan is in Final Four, representing Team Blake, and pulls out a song she co-wrote a few years ago, “Change My Mind,” as her The Voice single. The music video doesn’t play coy. The actor cast as her boyfriend is a dead ringer for her ex, Joshua Scott. Meghan even sports the pigtails she used to wear back then. In the clip, Meghan packs up her suitcase as she gets ready to leave a broken relationship. The heartbreak is real. The last shot is her and a suitcase, shutting the door behind her.

An apt image, as The Voice offers Meghan a second chance at a singing career. Recording the song and shooting the video must have been an incredibly cathartic experience for her.
