The Voice Monday Ratings Beats American Idol as College Ball Continues

The Voice Monday night ratings beat American Idol in the key 18-49 demo by 2/10ths of a point. These are Monday’s final numbers from Nielsen.

American Idol, airing a second night of Top 24 performances with celebrity duet partners on ABC, earned a 0.65 in key demo, with 4.7 million overall viewers. The Voice airing its second week of Battle rounds, garnered an 0.83 in the key demo for NBC and 6 million overall viewers.

Last Monday, American Idol and The Voice were about even in the demo. This week. Idol fell from a 0.71 in the demo while The Voice rose from 0.78.

Meanwhile, CBS had another banner night of NCAA. Pre-game at 8:30 earned a 1.17 in the key demo and 6.2 million overall viewers. After the 9:20 kickoff, the game garnered 4.12 in the key demo and averaged nearly 17 million viewers.
