Interestingly, The Voice ratings in the 18-49 demo ticked up 1/10th from Monday night’s premiere. Perhaps a mixture of less competition and preceding the very popular This is Us, which premiered last night. The Voice was still down over half a point from last fall’s Tuesday debut, however.
As predicted, Monday’s Dancing with the Stars premiere adjusted down from 1.1 to 1.0. The Tuesday results show fell further to a .09.
NBC dominated yet again, winning all three of the night’s primetime hours in the adults 18-49 demo, starting with the Tuesday premiere of The Voice at 8 p.m., which scored a 2.1 rating and 9.80 million viewers, a slight uptick from its Monday premiere, but down six-tenths from its Tuesday debut last Fall.
The season 3 premiere of This is Us was unsurprisingly the highest-rated broadcast of the night with a 2.9 and 10.40 million viewers, which despite being down a full point from its series-high premiere last year (3.9), marked a solid return for the NBC drama and was its highest-rated episode since Oct. 17.
ABC got off to another slow start Tuesday night as well, with Dancing with the Stars (0.9) falling from both its Monday night debut (1.0) and its Tuesday premiere last Fall (1.2).
