Back from break. Carson announces the creation of a foundation in the name of the late Voice season 6 alum, Christina Grimmie. The charity will benefit the fight against gun violence and other causes that were close to the singer’s heart. Her family is in the audience. Carson seems a little shook up as he makes the announcement. Adam, who coached Christina when she competed in 2014, takes the stage. Oh gosh. He’s going to perform The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” with his team, Jesse Larson, Lilli Passero and Mark Isaiah, in her honor. Rest in Peace sweet girl. Christina’s mom is in tears. “Christina we feel your spirit here at The Voice every single day. We love and miss you,” says Carson.

Welp. Time for more results. America saved…from team Alicia Keys…Vanessa Ferguson. America also saved…from Team Blake…Aliyah Moulden. She breaks down in tears in Blake’s arms.
Next, rapper G-Eazy performs his single “Good Life.” The tune is on the soundtrack of the 50 billionth sequel in the “Fast and Furious” series. Wanna be white dude. Zzzz.
Has anybody been paying attention to The Voice snapchat competition? Me neither. A dude named Ignatius from Team Adam won the competition. He’ll be participating in the Blind Auditions next season. That’s a nice perk! He’s on stage with Adam gushing about how super excited he is.

Seven remaining artists take the stage. Oh man. I was hoping we’d be skipping over “dumb questions.” After asking Lilli something typically inane, Carson announces that from Team Adam…Lilli Passero is safe. America also saved…from Team Alicia…Chris Blue!
Blake Shelton joins his team, Lauren Duski, Aliyah Moulden and TSoul for a twangy version of John Lennon’s “Crippled Inside.” The group is performing this song so jauntily. Has Blake actually considered the lyrics? The original is biting satire. It’s meant to make a political point.

The five remaining artists take center stage! First, some really dumb questions directed at Stephanie Rice and Troy Ramey. And then, America saved…from Team Gwen…Hunter Plake! America also saved…TSoul from Team Blake. America also saved…Stephanie Rice from Team Alicia.
Mark Isaiah from Team Adam and Troy Ramey from Team Gwen are the bottom 2 singers, having earned the least number of votes. The two will sing for the save. The singers pick their own songs.
Troy Ramey – Drift Away by Dobie Gray – Troy does his usual melody change up. It’s a solid performance, but not the kind of thing that gets people out of their seats. Blake calls his sound “classic .” He hopes people vote for him. Apparently he’s “freaking hilarious.” Gwen calls his style “natural” and “intuitive.” You’re so relaxed now, she says. Maybe too relaxed? It’s called a “save me” song for a reason. At this stage, a contestant is singing for his life.

Mark Isaiah – If I Were Your Man by Bruno Mars – Now THIS is a save me song people. Mark is singing his little heart out. I predicted Troy would stay. Now I’m not sure. This isn’t a great performance, but it’s very heartfelt. Adam compares him to Chris Jamison. HE’S NO CHRIS JAMISON THO. The point is that Chris struggled initially and came back to compete in the final. Well.

#VoiceSaveTroy #VoiceSaveMark! After the commercial break, Carson will announce the results.
Back from break, Troy thanks Gwen for giving him a chance to show his artistry. He says its tough to reveal the kind of singer and songwriter he is in such a short period of time, but Gwen understood that. Mark says Adam is “like a brother” and is glad he saw the potential in him. Gwen’s already tearing up–because of what Mark said to Adam. But she considers her team member, Troy to be “so gifted.” He’s the kind of singer she’d listen to. She calls his performance tonight “perfect” and “tasteful.” He’s a true artist, and she promises that he’ll show more of his personality if he continues. Adam urges America to vote for Mark. (Well…the insta-vote is closed). He begs America on Mark’s behalf. “I don’t usually stick my neck out like this.” he says.
America SAVED Mark Isaiah! Troy Ramey is eliminated.

Dang, Troy you shouldn’t have chosen that boring song. Why didn’t we see your personality throughout the run of the show? Troy is a very talented singer, but he performed behind an emotional veil. We never saw the real artist inside. That ability to connect is not something a celebrity coach is going to be able to pull out of an artist in such a short period of time.
It was a pretty close vote, though:
