Monday (June 26) was a big day in the world of The Voice. Coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson, along with host Carson Daly gathered at Universal Studios in Hollywood to tape The Voice season 13 Blind Auditions. The show won’t premiere until September 25, but by then, the Top 20 will likely have already been chosen. Summer is all about filming the fall season!
For a little sneak peek of what you can expect: Seating arrangements! Outfits! Hairstyles! Check out this home-movie quality video filmed on stage as Carson introduced the cast. FYI: The seating arrangement goes Adam, Miley, Jennifer and Blake. Miley bares her midriff and Adam looks (surprise!) fairly normal.
Blake gave Adam the finger as he took the stage, then a hug and a kiss. Miley had the honor of introducing new coach, former American Idol alum, Jennifer Hudson. She’s not new to the format. The singer cut her teeth on The Voice UK last winter–winning the show with her team member, Mo Andrian. But this is her first working with the crazy American crew. Adam offered his arm to JHud as she took the stage. But during a mini-interview with Carson, Adam kept mugging for the camera until Miley pulled him back, as if he were a naughty boy.
“They’re crazy!” Jennifer said as she points to her panel-mates. “But I love it! So far, so good.”
“I’m looking for a voice. That’s what I want to hear…something that moves me,” said Jennifer, in answer to Carson’s question about what the newbie coach is looking for. “I just want to feel that passion. I want to know they want it. I should feel that even before I turn around, along with hearing it,” she said. “I can’t wait to see the talent that America holds, that I know it has.”
