There were more Blind Auditions on last night’s (March 5) The Voice. Here are a few of my thoughts.
- Florence + the Machine songs are REALLY hard to cover. Kudos to Betsy Ade for bringing “Hunger” to life.
- Maybe it was the song choice, but Rebecca Howell left me a little cold. She struck me as old fashioned, but not in a good way–incorporated retro elements into a contemporary style.
- JT Rodriguez deserved a turn. Yes, his performance was wobbly in spots, but his tone and phrasing caught my attention.
- LB Crew is one of my favorites so far. I love his warm, soulful tone and he phrases a song without overdoing it. Great song choice (Waves) too.
Just as an FYI: It’s the last Tuesday The Voice episode until they pick back up again on April 9. Additionally, the Blinds end at Episode 6 on Monday March 18. A Best of the Blinds clip show is scheduled for WEDNESDAY March 20.
