Congratulations to Tamara Jade. The Voice season 19 singer has landed a role on the HBO show A Black Lady Sketch Show. She’s a new addition for Season 4. Production has begun in Los Angeles.
According to the HBO logline, “The narrative sketch comedy series features a core cast of Black women living relatable and hilarious experiences in a magical reality that subverts traditional expectations.”
The first three seasons of the series have garnered 13 Emmy nominations and three wins. Season three won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.
Tamara will star alongside returning cast members, Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis, and Skye Townsend along with fellow new featured players: DaMya Gurley and Angel Laketa Moore. Writer and performer Ashley Nicole Black is leaving the show.
Tamara earned a four chair turn on The Voice, picked Team Legend
Tamara has has performed with the likes of Madonna, Lizzo, Jon Batiste, Emily King, Usher, Yung Gravy, Tori Kelly, PJ Morton and John Legend (who was her coach on Season 19 of NBC’s The Voice. In addition to her success in the music industry, Jade has also worked with brands including Nike, Toyota, Amazon Prime, K8Hair and Hanes.
The singer garnered four turns in her 2020 Blind Audition with a cover of Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You.” She chose Team Legend and stayed on his team until she was eliminated in the semi-final sing-off.
