The new NBC competition singing show features some heavy duty star power, with Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green on the judges/mentoring panel.
The show is super-popular in Holland, but I’m not sure if the main gimmick–the judges listen to auditions with their backs to the performer–will mean much to US audiences. My reaction is pretty much “so what?” Once the judges’ teams are assembled, it will be pretty much business as usual.
The star power of the judges’ panel will draw initial audiences. But it’s the talent that will make them stay, right? I’ll be checking it out. How about you?
