The Voice’s Chloe MK Drops “To Be Young” Music Video

Chloe Kohanski To Be Young Music Video

Chloe Kohanski, known these days as Chloe MK released a “visual” Wednesday night (July 3) for her new single “To Be Young.” The Voice season 12 winner dropped the single last month.

The singer wrote on Twitter, “Made my first music video with my best friends in my apartment in brooklyn. Stay true to yourself and your art. Don’t let anyone tell you what to do or try to put you in a box… U ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN A BOX OR A LABEL OR A STEREOTYPE.

The video features Chloe and her friends joyfully posing for the camera in front of a simple backdrop. It’s a testament to staying positive and authentic in the face of self doubt and uncertainly

After receiving positive feedback on the video from her fans, Chloe wrote, “so happy u guys like the video. thx for believing in me!!!! feeling happy and excited about giving u more visuals and more music and more everything for a long long time.”

Earlier in the day, she posted a heartfelt message, “also idk if it’s cool to tweet this but I really have no idea what i’m doing and how i’m supposed to be doing this and sometimes i feel a little lost but hopefully u like this video and hopefully u will like the EP n that’s really all I got lol.”

“To Be Young” is off of the singer’s upcoming EP, Fantasy, which Chloe describes as a genre called “internet pop.”

“I sort of felt like being young was normally written about as being very fun and light-hearted,” she told NYLON where the song originally premiered. “And I think that’s true, but I don’t feel like there’s a lot of songs about how hard it is when you don’t really know who you are or what you want, and you feel like you have to apologize for simply just existing.”

The Team Blake Shelton member won her title in the fall of 2017 with emotional covers of beloved 70’s and 80’s tunes like “The Chain,” “Landslide,” “Time after Time” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
