Girl Named Tom announce their Christmas 2023 tour
Girl Named Tom recently announced their second Christmas tour. The sibling trio and winners of The Voice season 21 harmonize on the Hawaiian holiday song “Mele Kalikimaka” as they reveal the big news.
“Everybody, I know the sun is still shining,” says Bekah in the clip announcement on Instagram, “We are excited to announce our One More Christmas tour.” The presale for tickets begins Wednesday September 13 for fans who join the Girl Named Tom email list. “Aloha, we love you,” the clip ends.
Last year, the sibling trio (Bekah Liechty, Caleb Liechty, Josh Leichty) released a Christmas EP and embarked on their first Christmas tour as openers for Pentatonix on their perennial holiday run. In 2023, the group will go out as headliners.
The trio made the announcement while they were performing in Hawaii for the first time as part of the Hou Music Festival. Proceeds helped support Maui’s fire recovery.
During a visit to Hawaii News Now, Girl Named Tom performed their new single, “What a View.” Before performing an acoustic version, Caleb explained that the song is about “appreciating every moment because life is passing by in a blink.” Joshua added, “But what a view it is!”
Republic Records has kept Girl Named Tom from releasing new music. The band is grateful, but frustrated
In a recent interview, with Q 96.5 ahead of a hometown show in Bryan, Ohio, Bekah explained why fans have had to wait so long for their first single, “What a View.” While the band has been writing non-stop, the label has not given the green light on any of the band’s new songs.
Bekah explained in the interview that the trio is happy to be releasing music on a major record label like Republic Records, a deal that is part of The Voice winners’ prize package. However, she shares that they have been writing songs, but, “we haven’t been able to release them….which has been frustrating…” She continued, “We haven’t released a single since The Voice.”
