Today’s thread is brought to you by the numbers 2, 5 and 10.
With yesterday being a holiday, the Hot 100 numbers did not get released. Pundits are predicting Bieber’s “Love Yourself” to return to the top of that chart (Avalon also sang that song on Idol last week).
Most of the music biz chatter today is about last night’s Grammy’s where the wealth was spread around. Each of the big four awards (BNA, SOY, ROY and AOY) went to a different artist.
Adele won the twitter chatter last night and was the top trending topic for 2 hours. Her technical issues were much discussed. Adele, who is not much of a tweeter (she last tweeted Jan 13th) took to twitter to explain the issues. A piano mic fell on the strings and that was why there was that weird guitar like sound. She decided to skip the after-parties and hit up an In-n-Out.
A less than stellar performance of “All I Ask” still drew attention and the song has climbed into the top 10 on iTunes. Bieber’s “Love Yourself” has climbed into the top 2, James Bay’s “Let it Go” into the top 5, Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” is sitting at 7th and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” goes top 15. Idol’s Carrie Underwood performed last night and “Heartbeat” surged to 18th by this morning. Auditioneer Tori Kelly was also featured helping to propel “Hollow” to 31st.
Billboard lists out 34 things you didn’t see on the Grammy telecast last night. Included are Pentatonix winning their second Grammy in the Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category.
