This week’s five milestones feature a trio of 16 year old contestants.
X-Factor’s Harry Styles continues to clock those milestones. This week, he hits three – one in each of the three mainstream format. “As It Was” hits number one on Pop, top 5 on HAC and top 10 on AC. He’s making his own mark on music. Harry was just 16 years old when he appeared on X-Factor UK.
Another successful teen signing competitor is Scotty McCreery (just 16 when he auditioned, but 17 when he won). As noted on the show last week, he has had four country single ones. His latest single “Damn Strait” goes top 15 on Country this week – will this song become his fifth number one?
Our final teen competitor is Lauren Spencer-Smith. She too was 16 on American Idol in Season 18 (the COVID season). She became a social media sensation and released her “Fingers Crossed” earlier this year. Her latest single “Flowers” debuts on Pop this year.
Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” slides to number three on the Billboard 200 chart with 50K in equivalent album sales (-3% from last week).
