The Voice 8 returns to NBC on Monday February 23, with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera as coaches. Us Magazine reports the mentors who will join the teams when the competition goes to Battle Rounds once the teams are picked during the blind auditions.
Team Pharrell Williams – mentored by Lionel Richie
Team Adam Levine – mentored by Ellie Goulding
Team Christina Aguilera – mentored by Nick Jonas
Team Blake Shelton – mentored by Meghan Trainor
Lionel returns to assist Christina, having mentored for the singer back in season 2. Meghan was SUPPOSED to mentor during finale week, but mysteriously bowed out at the last minute (Christina took her place!) So she’s back to fulfill her destiny as The Voice mentor! Meghan (All About That Bass), Ellie (Lights) and Nick (Jealous) all are current hit artists, with Lionel joining the group as the lone vet.
Christina, who is currently working on her eighth studio album and gave birth to daughter Summer Rain in August, will return after taking a two season sabbatical. The rest of the panel is returning right off of coaching season 7.
