The Voice season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli has signed with manager Brandon Blackstock, coach Kelly Clarkson’s husband. Blackstock also manages Kelly and fellow The Voice coach Blake Shelton.
The 15 year old singer is back home in Longmeadow, Massachusetts where she’s relaxing a bit and finishing her freshman year of high school. Brynn did take a minute to do a tour of the town’s middle and elementary schools on Wednesday (May 30). She answered student’s questions and performed five songs including an acoustic piano rendition of her The Voice single “Walk My Way.”
Brynn tells 22News that along with signing on with Blackstock, she’s also in the process of creating new music. It sounds like Kelly and Brynn don’t plan to waste a minute (of course, the teen has to graduate high school in the meantime!).
Having won The Voice, Brynn is signed to Republic Records. Unfortunately, the label’s track record with the show’s winners is terrible. It’s typically one and done if the artist even releases an album on the label at all.
Although Jordan Smith (S9) and Chris Blue (S12) still have their deals, so far, NO The Voice winners have released more than one album with Republic Records (Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery are the exceptions–signed to Republic imprint Big Machine Label Group run by Scott Borchetta).
But with Team Kelly in Brynn’s corner, the singer will hopefully land on her feet, no matter what happens with her label deal.
