Watch country singer Mickey Guyton sing the National Anthem before the Super Bowl LVI game in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday (Feb 13). The singer performed in front of a gospel choir dressed in white. She seemed a little nervous at first, but ended the performance triumphantly, on a high note.
Mickey’s groundbreaking debut album Remember Her Name recently earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album of the Year, the first-ever for a Black artist, plus nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.
The singer competed on American Idol season 7 making it as far as the Top 50. Other American Idol alums who performed the National Anthem include Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks.
The game airing live on NBC pits the home team, Los Angeles Rams vs the Cincinnati Bengals.
