Queen + Adam Lambert hit the stage to close the Global Citizen Festival in New York City Saturday night (Sept 28) with an electric thirteen song concert. The band kicked off the set of high energy performances, with “Now I’m Here” and closed with the crowd pleaser “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions.”
Adam and Queen band followed an all star lineup that included Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, One Republic, H.E.R. and Carole King. American Idol OG winner and The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson turned up to sing a surprise duet with Carole!

There were a ton of ways to watch the concert, which took place in New York City’s famed Central Park. It aired on the cable news channel MSNBC in America. But the event was also streamed on the internet. Instead of posting a kajillion videos, here’s a link to the full concert, starting with Queen + Adam Lambert’s set, introduced by Bohemian Rhapsody star, Rami Malek. But if you prefer individual performances, MSNBC and Global Citizen have them posted on their Youtube pages.
Global Citizen Festival began in 2012 as a platform to encourage world leaders to adhere to the United Nation’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development and to end extreme poverty by 2030. This year, the festival is urging the world’s largest communities, including Canada, Germany and Australia, to increase their support by 15 percent to the $14 billion fundraising drive — which aims to save 16 million lives and cut mortality rates from AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in half by 2023.
