Scotty McCreery dropped by ABC’s Good Morning America earlier this week to perform his current hit country single, “It Matters to Her.” The singer’s wife Gabi, who inspired the song, appeared on stage with their baby Avery as the American Idol 2011 winner was introduced.

“It Matters to Her,” from the country singer’s Same Truck: The Deluxe Album and co-written with Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller, peaked at No. 2 on the Mediabase chart, No. 3 on Billboard Country Airplay and No. 13 on Hot Country Songs. Right now, Scotty is featured on the Brooks & Dunn REBOOT Tour through June 17. He performed at the 2023 CMA Fest country kickoff concert on June 6. His tour schedule is busy through the end of September.

The official music video for “It Matters to Her” debuted last November. Directed by Jeff Ray (who also directed the country singer’s videos for “Five More Minutes,” “This is It,” “In Between” and “Damn Strait”), the clip was filmed during preparations for the arrival of Scotty and Gabi’s first child, Merrick Avery McCreery. The clip features a collection of home videos.

Scotty is currently on tour

Last month, Scotty surprised fans with the new digital track “Why She Gotta Be Like That” featuring Colombian singer/songwriter GUSI. The North Carolina native discovered the Latin singer on social media performing his song “Why You Gotta Be Like That.” The singers, whose paternal grandmother came to the U.S. from Puerto Rico reached out, and the two released a duet in both Spanish and English.

Recently, “Five More Minutes,” the first of five consecutive No. 1 singles Scotty notched reached RIAA Triple-Platinum Certification, while “Damn Strait,” the most recent of his back-to-back hits, reachese RIAA Platinum status.

Scotty is also one of the artists featured in the new “American Currents: State of the Music” exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, on display through Feb. 4, 2024.
