Unlike the past few years, where Super Bowl headliners invite special guests, The Weekend had the stage all to himself when he performed for the Super Bowl LV halftime show. Artists are probably HAPPY to share the stage with other performers, if only to take the heat off themselves for a bit.
But The Weeknd had the entire 12 minute performance to himself. The Canadian performer, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, took the stage at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium to perform a slew of his biggest hits, including “Starboy,” “The Hills,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” “I Feel it Coming,” and “Blinding Lights.”

The Weekend got an assist by an orchestra in the stands, and an army of bandaged backup dancers. Perhaps the big game took a bit of the sting out of that Grammy snub.
