ABC announced its 2024-2025 fall primetime schedule today at the network’s Upfronts presentation for advertisers in New York City.
Once again, Dancing with the Stars will air on TUESDAY nights to make way for Monday Night Football. For years, DWTS aired on Monday night. For season 31 two years ago, the show only streamed on Disney Plus. But once the writers and actors strikes got underway in 2022, ABC moved the show back to broadcast, while still streaming live on Disney plus. However, the iconic show moved from Monday to Tuesday nights. For the foreseeable future, that’s where the dance show will stay. Because, FOOTBALL! Also, no confirmation yet about cast members returning for season 33.
Notice that after the success of the Golden Bachelor last year, ABC will run a season of the Golden Bachelorette this fall. Maybe there will be another marriage and a quick divorce!
American Idol season 23 will debut at mid-season
New seasons of returning dramas The Rookie and Will Trent will debut midseason, along with the farewell season of legacy comedy The Conners.
Also returning midseason are American Idol, The Bachelor, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune hosted by Ryan Seacrest, and What Would You Do? Extreme Makeover: Home Edition from executive producer Reese Witherspoon and hosted by organizing duo Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit, is also set to debut.
ABC will announce fall premiere dates soon, and additional midseason announcements will be made at a later time.
