The Voice Season 18 Top 5 sang their hearts out on last night’s performance finale. And on tonight’s finale, The Voice crowns a winner who wins a contract with Republic Records and $100 thousand dollars.
The Top 5 includes Micah Iverson (Team Kelly), Toneisha Harris (Team Blake), Todd Tilghman (Team Blake), CamWess (Team Legend) and Thunderstorm Artis (Team Nick). Coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas will sing duets with their respective team members.
The Voice 18 Semi Final Predictions: Who Will Win? (Poll Results)
The Voice 18 Finale: Everything You Need to Know, Original Songs
Host Carson Daly hosts from the empty The Voice studio. The show begins at 9 pm after a clip show at 8 pm.
The finale kicks off with the coaches, ex coaches Shakira and Cee Lo Green, Bebe Rexha and finalists singing Pete Townsend’s “Let My Love Open the Door.” Kelly hitting those high notes!
Next, it’s the final edition of The Voice Happy Hour. Once again, the clip was released on Youtube a few days ago. Everyone cheers newbie Nick Jonas for a job well done, in addition to being a good sport. John sings a Voice themed Cheers parody. I wonder who will be returning to The Voice in the fall.
Next, Jonas Brothers, perform their newly released single “X” featuring reggaeton superstar KAROL G. Oo la la ya ya…. Moving iPhones are involved in this clip which happens to be the song’s official music video.
Blake picked John Mellencamp’s “Authority Song” to sing with Team member Todd Tilghman because he thought it would be fun. Plus, there’s a line about a preacher in it, which Todd is. The magic of video: It’s as if Todd and Blake are standing right next to each other. I haven’t thought of this song for years. Todd’s cousin and best friend join the broadcast remotely to cheer him on.
Carson announces that throughout the night, to celebrate 18 seasons of The Voice, the show will look back at iconic coach performances from over the years. First up, a return to 2011 and season 1’s “Crazy.” It featured Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. The OG coaching panel!
Now, we visit a Los Angeles hospital, where John Legend performs “Conversations in the Dark/All of Me” from home, as they watch remotely. Each coach will perform for a group of essential workers tonight, as a thank you. The hospital personnel sing along with John on “All of Me.”
Now, it’s a look at “Come Together” featuring Usher, Shakira, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine from Season 4 in 2013.
Lady Antebellum is here to sing “Champagne Nights.” The group’s new single is the song they found on Songland this season. It’s the first song to be released as an official single by a Songland artist. Red solo cups ARE involved.

Thunderstorm Artis and his coach Nick Jonas duet on “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins. Maybe tonight’s duet performances will lift the studio recordings on the iTunes charts. Thunderstorm’s cousin Bryce and his best friend Jonathan beam in to say hi and good luck!
Now, a clip celebrating newbie coach Nick Jonas and the many ways the other coaches hazed him.
Blake Shelton checked in with a food bank in Oklahoma. The workers watched as Blake and Gwen Stefani performed their single “Nobody But You” from his empty club Ole Red.
Let’s look back at Season 14 coach performance of “Fly Me to the Moon” and “Feeling Good” featuring Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Alicia Keys.
Before the Summer Tokyo Olympics were postponed, the coaches did a bit with Olympic athletes. It all seems so long ago doesn’t it. Ha. Except Kelly! She thinks horseshoes should be an Olympic sport. Two of the Olympians join Carson for an interview. The two talk about keeping up training while in quarantine. The Olympics have been rescheduled for summer 2021.
And now, CammWest and his coach John Legend perform their duet “Rocket Man” by Elton John. CammWest’s best friends Xan and Steven are on standby to support!
Kelly Clarkson performs her new single “I Dare You” against a backdrop of essential workers and families in face masks. She sings differents parts of the song in 6 different languages. Kelly released versions for each of the six languages, in addition to an ASL version and remix. How many times is Carson going to mention Microsoft tonight? Major project placement, man.
Next, Blake Shelton and his team member Toneisha Harris sing “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac. It’s a good thing Blake doesn’t mind being totally overshadowed by his team members!
Finally, Kelly Clarkson joins forces with team member Micah Iverson to sing “I Run To You” by Lady Antebellum. His cousin Sarah and friend Rob say hey!
For Season 12, coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani sang “Waterfalls.” Let’s take a look ahead of a commercial.
A bunch of The Voice alums from this season and seasons past, join together to sing “What the World Needs Now is Love” It’s not “We Are The World” but it’s nice!
Next, Nick Jonas sings his new song “Until We Meet Again.” This has got a John Mayer vibe, which is interesting. Nick thanks all the essential workers! Aw. His wife Priyanka Chopra makes a cameo at the end.
Here are Jersey boys Bon Jovi performing their upbeat, anthemic new single “Limitless” from new album Bon Jovi 2020, which will be released this fall.
FINALLY IT’S TIME FOR RESULTS. Who will win it all? But first ONE MORE ROUND OF DUMB QUESTIONS. Won’t miss those. The singers wax poetic about their coaches. Blah blah blah…thank you for believing in me…blah. Carson is going to read the name of the artist from fifth place to first. The finalist in fifth place is Micah Iverson! The finalist in fourth place is…CammWest. So far, predictions ON POINT!
After a break… Ohhh. Blake is having audio issues. Bummer. Whatever he said to his team members was probably very nice. And the winner of The Voice is Todd Tilghman. Welp. As predicted. But wait! What about 2nd and 3rd place? Who is the runner up? Did I miss something? I’m confused. Carson went straight to announcing the winner, and then ended the show.
TODD TILGHMAN WINS THE VOICE. Toneisha Harris and Thunderstorm Artis finished in 2nd or 3rd place. We’ll never know, I guess. What the heck? Why didn’t Carson take two seconds to announce the runner-up? Time was wasted on Blake garbling into a broken microphone instead.
Anyway. While I honestly had no idea who would win American Idol, the outcome of The Voice season 18 was pretty clear from at least the Knockouts. Todd seems like a really nice guy, but he was the least deserving winner in the Top 5. I would have been OK with any of the other four winning. Todd is earnest and has a decent voice, but his warmed over 80s power ballads, 90s country tunes and contemporary Christian covers lacked creativity. It’s not as if The Voice winners go on to big careers, but I prefer talent be rewarded.
Todd’s got eight kids. The 100K prize will probably come in handy.
RESULTS
1. Todd Tilghman WINNER
2. ????
3. ????
4. CammWest
5. Micah Iverson
