America’s Got Talent 2023 is off this week to make way for NBC’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks special
After five weeks of auditions, America’s Got Talent will take a week off to make way for an NBC 4th of July special.
The American holiday, July 4 is on a Tuesday this year, the same night that AGT airs on NBC. Last year, the network aired an America’s Got Talent audition repeat during the July 4 week, a time when many Americans are on vacation. But this year, because the AGT and the holiday conflict, NBC will give the series a break to make way for the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks special.
Instead of watching hopefuls take the stage to perform for judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell, fans can watch pop stars take the stage in New York City ahead of a blazing fireworks show.
Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge’s Rutledge Wood and Access Hollywood’s Zuri Hall will serve as co-hosts.The 47th annual fireworks show.
A slew of acts will take the stage in New York City ahead of the fireworks display
Ashanti, Bebe Rexha, Ja Rule, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and LL COOL J featuring DJ Z-Trip & The Roots will take the stage ahead of Macy’s breathtaking fireworks display against the New York City backdrop.
Additionally, the broadcast will include segments featuring actors Caleb McLaughlin (Shooting Stars), George Lopez (Lopez vs Lopez), Mayan Lopez (Lopez vs Lopez) and Raymond Lee (Quantum Leap) as well as non-profit organization Dance to Unite. Team USA gymnasts currently training for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including Olympic Silver Medalist Jordan Chiles, 2022 U.S. All-Around Champion Konnor McClain and three-time World medalist Shilese Jones will also make an appearance.
The two hour special airs on NBC Tuesday July 4 from 8-10 pm ET/PT.
America’s Got Talent 2023 returns on Tuesday July 11
But not to worry, America’s Got Talent returns next week on Tuesday July 11 with Auditions week 6. Live shows begin Tuesday August 22 with live results kicking off on Wednesday August 30. Tuesday and Wednesday shows will continue through the finale which will air on Tuesday September 19 and Wednesday September 20.
