Little Mix – Glory Days (Album Sampler)

Little Mix’s new album Glory Days exclusive track-by-track review: exactly what British pop needs right now
They’ve done it again.
We say it every year, but only because they keep on doing it. Little Mix continue to defy expectations and have finally found themselves in their rightful place: as the biggest pop group in the UK right now.

After becoming the first (and so far only) group to win The X Factor, they’ve now joined Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke as the show’s former winners with the most UK No.1 singles. Add to that massive headline tours of the UK, and actually outselling One Direction with their last album Get Weird, Little Mix have blossomed into bonafide pop princesses.

But with all of that success comes bigger expectation. How can these four girls keep topping their best? Fourth studio album Glory Days certainly promises to be their most accomplished collection yet, but does it deliver? Here’s our exclusive track-by-track review.

OLLY MURS – 24HRS – Preview songs HERE

Olly Murs new album 24 Hrs track-by-track review: his best collection yet
His tears have produced pop gold.?
X Factor’s most successful second-place star, Olly Murs, has found himself as one of the most prominent male popstars in the UK.

Five albums in, the cheeky chap from Essex has carved himself a reputation for uplifting pop bops, plenty of feel-good fun and a “your mother would love him” charm.

But since proclaiming that he had Never Been Better on his last album, Olly’s personal life fell apart a bit. The turmoil has produced his most personal album yet, but does all the heartache live up to the sprightly attitude we’ve come to expect from him? Here’s our track-by-track review.

Olly Murs interview: “It’s a new era, it’s a new chart, it’s a new everything”
We find out what we can expect from the singer’s new album 24 HRS.
The last quarter of the year in music – or Q4 to industry types – is often a tumultuous, unpredictable and, well, Christmassy time. But one staple of the season you can always count on being there is Olly Murs.

His fifth album in six years, called 24 HRS, arrives this week after 2014’s chart-topping Never Been Better. And it’s not just a select few that find his near-annual album releases more comforting than sipping hot chocolate under a warm blanket; each of his records has sold in massive quantities. And we mean massive. More on that next week, when Official Charts will be revealing his biggest sellers.

We caught up with the man himself to find out what we can expect from his latest collection.

‘We’ve all been there…’ Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall lifts the lid on those racy ‘faking it’ lyrics… as girlband agree to become mums at the same time
They’ve shed their squeaky clean pop image to make crude confessions about their sex life, on the new album.

But Little Mix are going to have to do a bit more than ‘fake it’ if they’re going to follow through with their new pact to have children at the same time.

The former X Factor winners – Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – told The Guardian’s G2 that their thoughts have already turned the next generation of world domination.

They’re riding high on the British charts once again, thanks to the success of their recently-released single Shout Out To My Ex.

And with Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson all having endured breakups since rising to fame, they’ve decided to take far-from-subtle digs at their former boyfriends in song form.

‘We’ve all been through heartbreak and love, so we’ve written a song that girls can relate to,’ Jesy told The Sun’s Fabulous. ‘It’s kind of an “up yours!”. I love that they will think: “Oh, f**k you,” when they hear it. That’s why I feel so lucky that we can express ourselves through our music.’

Little Mix: ‘The prime minister should dress like Ru Paul’
Little Mix are Britain’s most successful girl group since the Spice Girls. Five years after winning The X Factor they’re still going strong – just don’t ask them to be role models or stick to the rules of pop-star interviews
“I’m sorry but these aren’t true,” huffs Perrie Edwards, as she studies the assortment of Popstars Top Trumps cards, including one of Little Mix themselves, spread out in her hand.

“Sorry, but Miley Cyrus has beaten us in fanciability!” Jesy Nelson declaims, referring to one of the game’s completely subjective categories, to an unprintable putdown from Jade Thirlwall.

Edwards then engages Leigh-Anne Pinnock in a separate debate. “Is Pharrell Williams hotter than Justin Bieber? I don’t think so,” she says.

“Pharrell is so hot,” counters Pinnock.

Finally, Edwards slams the cards on the table and seems to speak for everyone when she announces: “This. Game. Is. Bullshit.”
